If you were going to order a ultimate one stick from EWO. You would order _ _ _

After reading all the post with 14 and 15 inch aider steps I hope I didn't screw up .i just ordered a 15" stick with u.p and 3 step at 19 inch. I am 6'4"
You can always call them and change the spacing. They will do that. You will probably be ok with 19 since you are so tall. Only issue might be when you bundle up. You could also get another double step with shorter step spacing for late season and switch the steps out as necessary….or you could just call and change it to an ultimater that can be adjusted. If I could do it over, that’s what I would do.

There is no wrong way to go. If you have long legs and hunt warmer weather than you might like the longer step. My in seam is only 29-30. I didn't wanna go any bigger than 15. Dano had a 20" at the meet up. It was useable. But I only had one layer on.
Web site said orders are 6-7 weeks out. So if you really want to change it, I bet you can.

I went slightly longer with an 18" stick and a single step aider. No platform on top. I feel like a sticktop platform is a perfectly fine compromise, but I personally prefer a separate platform, which allows me to use my stick as spare foot space for walking around a tree.

I'm pretty satisfied with it.

I'm 6' 4'' also and I ran a stick last year that is around 21? I'm not sure what it was, it was one of the first few and I didn't have a choice on length. It was a bit too long for late season. I ordered a 2 step 15 inch after season and if I could do it again I think for somebody my size I would either go 2 steps at 17in. Or 3 at 15or17in. I might end up ordering a ultimate aider to add to the bottom of what I have now.

Ordered today.

Went with 15" stick, and 15" 3 step aider.

I ordered both the flat scout and a double step for on top since I couldn't decide. I have a platform I can use for longer sits.

I ended up ordering a 15" FeatherStick, I wanted it to still be packable but have good spacing. I topped it off with the UP and finished it off with a 3 step aider at 17". This should be a nice upgrade from my super minimalist solo scout with a workhorse but not add too much weight.

A three step with shorter spacing will give you more flexibility over the season and get you higher on the first move than a two step with longer spacing. I have a 3 step 15” and I use every step on every move. The bottom step doesn’t really get me much on each move, but it’s close to your foot height so it’s easy to get you foot in it and get your toe into the tree, which gets the second step off the tree to start the climb up the aider. It really stabilizes things and makes it easier.

My one stick is 12in post (I went with the plain ol regular post and not the Featherlite) with a slotted bottom and two step aider at 18in per step and then a UP on top. I have a harken 150 and the one stick rope for securing it to the tree.

From the little bit that I've climbed with it so far I love it. I one sticked all last year and this is so much more comfortable of a stick (it was even before I bought the UP and had just the regular steps). It's seriously got me considering ditching my platform all together. The only thing I may change up is ordering a 15in post as I am all legs (6'1") so the shorter stick makes me think consciously of not smoking my shin on the platform and I'd prefer not to have to do that.

Plus I like Dan O and the guys at EWO so I don't mind giving them my money. Also.... That canyon elite is calling my name for a new climbing rope

.. just got my canyon elite repel line and lineman's in last week.... was previously running Tethrd's predator bridge and tether but I'm going to transition to a repelling setup.... the 6mm trc line as a prussic is AWESOME.... my main issue with the predator rope was bulk and the prussic that came with them bit down SO HARD.. I had to sit there and bend the knot back and forth some times before I could get it to move. the 6mm trc on the 9 mm canyon elite bites hard when tension is applied but is easy to break. Canyon line is AWESOME and if you're going with a prussic, the 6mm trc works great.

I just use a single rope, C-IV, for climbing and rappelling. I did tie on an adjustable bridge for use while climbing as the stock bridge on the Mantis is 47ft long and I often get it caught up on my steps as I'm climbing. The new bridge at its longest is still shorter than the stock bridge. In my two test climbs, both of which I've had the stock bridge on the biner as well as a backup, it's worked out so much better.

Well not more than 5 weeks after I ordered this EWO box lands at my door. I almost didn't think it had the stick in it because it was so light. Any way looks good so far. This weekend I can start the learning process or place it on the classifieds.

I like my ewo 12” stick with 15” 3 step aider. 12” stick is about perfect for the with of my back pack so it’s stays out of the way and doesn’t catch. I like the flat monarch on top, no shin busting because no down angle on front. This is a killer combo.

Flat Monarch, how did I miss that!

If you don't mind answering, does the platform measure out at a true 10" x 6" or is it a bit bigger or smaller? i have a different OOAL platform and it doesn't measure to spec (though I think it's even better as is).

Also, could you say, on an average tree, how far the front edge is from the trunk? In other words, I'm interested in how much extra toe space could be expected from the tree due to the standoff?

Looks to me the foot space ends up pretty comparable to a predator, given no post interference on the Monarch. I don't know if you've used one to give a comparison.

Thanks for posting.

Flat monarch looks good.

I went with 15" stick, double step on bottom, flat scout on top, 16" spacing on a 3 step aider.

I'm just shy of 5 weeks and I'm expecting delivery today according to tracking. planning on heading to the woods first thing tomorrow to try it out. Looks like I have until noon before storms roll in.

15" stick, 3 step aider 15" spacing, flat scout

Lol….since you waited five weeks, you might want to give yourself more than two days before you unload it.

Lol. I'll will give it an honest try more than once. What I paid for it, I will have to absolutely hate it to sell it right away.

So I tried onesticking a bit with a short beast & ultimaider to see what I wanted before sending my monthly allotment to @DanO & I can tell you first hand it’s night & day having a purpose built stick vs almost what I needed. First few climbs are clunky but it gets better & that EWO stick is the bomb!

I can absolutely check that for you when I get home from work later today.
