Receiving anything whether a gift as you called it is still compensation was the only point I was making. As technical as that may sound. The hear say was just verbiage. I think I’m just tired of him repeating himself. Every pod cast he does he states the same thing. If you honestly think he hasn’t received anything as technical as it may seem then great. But in todays world I find it highly unlikely.

Who cares if he got anything. He's done a lot for saddle hunting. I been saddle hunting since the early 80s and have seen the changes over the years . For along time there was not a lot out there but he helped Trophyline back in the day design saddles . I know he's good for saddle hunting and he will help anyone who ask him a question. I've meet him and talk to him and he was very polite and I enjoyed the talk we had. I like to take a person at their word and not say that they are lying.
 
I honestly don’t get the dislike from some towards JE. The dude has been doing what we love for longer than some of us have been alive. We may not all agree with his points of view yada yada yada, but the man is a true pioneer in every sense of the word.
 
Guys- not trying to call him a liar and I don’t discard all the good he has done. Sorry for stepping on toes apparently! I was just pointing out that, even though it is technical, even if he received a free suit for field testing or as a gift, that is compensation. Not saying it’s a lot or even worth it but still compensation for his input, knowledge, or endorsement. I’ll make sure next time to say IMO. Conversation ENDED!!! BTW- I use ScentLoc.
 
I’ve wondered at times if a suit that can keep deer from smelling you could be considered not “fair chase”. But I don’t know if it actually works that well or not. JE is quite the character though.
 
I bought some scent loc for the first time ever this spring. Going to try it. The camo pattern looked awesome and from several recommendations on here the clothing itself is good quality so I figure why not have every advantage? It can’t hurt, the camo pattern is appealing and if it adsorbs some of my stink, why not. It was like 60% off. I did not get the Saddle Hunter suit though I got the B1 or whatever in the MO Tera Gilla pattern which is lighter and open for up in trees. We’ll see. If it gives me an advantage great! If not, it’s still good hunting garb.

If it was considered not to be fair chase then believe me it would be on the affidavit for Pope and Young club. What about Ozonic
generators ?

Whether or not it’s fair chase is really a personal opinion, I don’t care if pope and young approves of it or not. If you considered scentlok not fair chase than ozonics would definitely qualify as well. Plus you have the factor of how silly you’ll look up in a tree with a smoke machine.
 
In my opinion John should be paid by these companies that benefit from his name as well as his input on products. How are these companies getting by without paying him. The only answer is, he has asked not to be compensated so that he won't be bias. Anyone else have any ideas why?
 
Just curious if anyone here know the reason. Mr. Eberhart last posted on the forum Sept 2021, and last time he even login was Nov 2022. Why does he no longer visit the forum? I heard he still use Facebook.

I understand majority of the Tethrd staff stay away for business reason. It make me a little sad that they actively try not to even mention this forum anymore. Greg used to tell all his viewer to go to saddlehunter forum in his videos.
