Keto - If you're a saddle hunter, I think you'll dig it.

Ok Keto gurus. I know several of you are staying on Keto after you lose the weight you want. How the heck do you stay on Keto but eat enough to stop losing weight. I only weigh every 2-3 weeks because how well you’re hydrated and what you’ve eaten can effect daily weight by a couple pounds. So I weighed a few weeks ago and had only lost a pound since I had last weighed. No big deal I had already lost way faster than I wanted to. Went on vacation and haven’t been 100 percent eating like I should. Nothing like a bunch of carbs just mainly too much protein and not enough fat and greens. Anyway weighed yesterday thinking I maybe gained a pound and had lost another 8. Well I’m getting ready to raise the bar in my strength training and cardio. I’m not talking triathlon but I’ve mainly been doing enough strength training to try not to lose much muscle mass while dieting and evening walks. I really want to stay at my current weight but move some weight around. I’m also going to start running some now that I’m light enough that It doesn’t feel like you just jumped off a house every time my feet hit the ground.

You need to balance your food intake with your activity level. I've lost some and then went into maintenance mode to understand how much I can eat and not pack on the lbs. Everyone is different, have fun experimenting

Many people step off Keto diets gradually, avoiding high glycemic index foods using mainly greens for carbs. Ive always seen great results for athletes who like keto with cyclic ketogenic diets. Me personally I lose almost too much weight on keto, I lose body fat very quickly with moderate exercise without carbohydrates. When I want to start gaining muscle mass, I will introduce carbohydrates around my heavy lifting days to both fuel more reps and weight pushed, and with recovery. Without knowing exactly how you got to where you are now, I'd suggest starting out with a small dose of a carbohydrates on heavy lifting days. Titrate your carb dose up from a starting dose of around 1/4 gram per pound bodyweight. (50 grams of carbs for a 200lb guy on heavy lifting days). To be clear, a heavy lifting day consists of several compound movements over a complete range of motion such as squats and presses.

Just want to give my 2 cents. I started keto march 15. Lost 45 lbs now. Went from 245 to 200. My acid reflux was gone the first week i started. I am completely off my high blood pressure medicine with normal 116/70 readings. Can't help think how processed foods and sugar negatively affects our bodies. I am more low carb with more vegetables than high fat diet. I did learn that you need to make sure you keep your sodium level up or you can experience dizziness and lightheaded.

Increase your carb level until you stop losing. Dr. Atkins recommended this in his books .
