Keto - If you're a saddle hunter, I think you'll dig it.

How do you make crack slaw?
Thanks,

Well I see fbwguy gave you a recipe but if you get on YouTube you'll find several of them. Basically they're all the same, just some type of ground meat and a bag of coleslaw mix with some seasonings. You can add some of this, some of that or just whatever flavor you're in the mood for. My normal is the Asian theme "egg roll". By the way did you get to try any this weekend?

Im on day 8 of keto and already notice a big difference. Have a lot more energy and dont require as much sleep. I used to get home from work and fall asleep in the livingroom. Now I get home from work and work on other things. Its not a miracle and not for everyone but it works for me and I dont see myself going back anytime soon.

So I guess I started “keto” back in 2015 and my buddy got me into it. I thought he was nuts but eventually he convinced me. I don’t really know if it was keto (I had never heard of keto at the time) but it was a workout/nutrition plan we got from reading the book “Engineering The Alpha. Man 2.0” it’s based around boosting testosterone naturally through intermittent fasting and counting macros. It works for sure. I’d recommend the audiobook because the authors do a great job of breaking down the science behind it. It has a pretty awesome cheat day too .

Was it a low/no carbs plan? Just curious. I'm loving keto so far

It was a 4 phase program (each phase 1 month) and it started out super low carb with high fat (only the good fats) intake. Then it gradually incorporated more carbs each phase until by the 4th phase you were still low carb but a healthy amount of carbs.

Folks here is the thing about low carb. There are only two real energy sources - carbs and fats (protein when broken down turns into glycogen - a carb source). So if you restrict your carbs down really low you HAVE to increase fat so your body can convert over to using fat as energy 9which is a much healthier and easier process). It takes 3-6 months for a human body to fully adapt and become proficient at burning fat as its primary fuel source. Do not go to a low carb high protein diet as that does nothing to become more efficient at burning body fat. And you will fell hungry because it is not easy for your body to break down and use protein as an energy source.

I started again a couple weeks ago after a few days of indulging over Christmas. I really like it. I've done the low carb intermittent fasting thing for years but until I never fully realized the benefits of keto until I took the final steps to get my carbs truely low enough and supplenting with fats...not more lean protein. More Energy, Better Sleep, Better Bloodwork, Better Dreams and Never Hungry. It'll be hard for me to change back. I do miss some of the foods but man do I feel younger.

hunt black bear. eat like a black bear the key is to vary your diet like the black bear.

I'm planning to jump on the Keto train starting this Sunday or Monday. I have been eating healthy with a balance of protein, fat, carbs at each meal. I usually spend several hours on Sunday prepping my bulk food for the week and portion it out each day. I have no issues eating the same thing every day because it makes prepping much easier.

My staples for a while have been Crack chicken (chicken breast, FF cream cheese, ranch dressing mix, Franks hot sauce), squash and onions, green beans, ground turkey with taco seasoning, london broil (top round) grilled with montreal seasoning and/or grilled boneless skinless chicken thighs.

What I'm looking for are suggestions for keto friendly things I can prep similar to what I have been doing. I realize a lot of the items I have been doing are already keto friendly. Any ideas? Do any of you meal prep?
