Linesman's Belt gadget....

I switched to using a ropeman 1 with some yale bandit for my linemans belt. My only problem is carrying it, I am used to having my web lineman's belt packed up nice and tight in a little pouch on my hip. Right now I am just wrapping it around me and hooking it in again, but there has to be a better way. Anybody have any ideas? I have a vision of a hook on the belt or a little webbing with a buckle to put the coiled rope on.

I stuff it in my pack but I've made a chain sinnet with the rope and hung it from my side. Sinnets are great for keeping longer tethers neatly stowed too.

Maybe you're just suffering from tiny pouch syndrome?

My hip pouch is plenty big enough for my rope, ropeman and both carabiners. Sometimes I keep both carbiners connected to the saddle and throw the rope behind my neck like a beach towel.

lol yes, trying to minimize the amount of pouch I carry.

TPS?!?! You sure this is the venue? You might be able to google a self help group for that. I think REI has one.

OH NO!!! I THINK I HAVE IT!!!

Got my Ropeman 1 and its going to workout awesome! I highly recommend ordering from Backcountry if anyone wants a Ropeman. I'll be using the Ropeman specifically on my tree rope in place of a prussic knot. I'm currently using a Lone Wolf strap that is used for their treestands as my linemans belt. I don't know that its as safe as other linemans belts but it works fine for me and is really easy to adjust.

My ropeman 1 came in. Real nice! It will work way better than prussic for linemans belt!

I am using the ropeman 1 for my linemans belt also and it works great. If anyone has trouble finding one, another option is the kong duck ascender. I picked one up because it works on webbing and I wanted to try something out. I am now using it on my rope tree strap instead. It was a little more expensive than the ropeman 1 but its an alternative. It is also black and yellow, and the small silver part has only a dull shine compared to the ropeman 1.

Where is everyone finding the ropeman 1 at to buy? Can't seem to find it anywhere on the web... The Kong Duck is easily purchased from amazon.

Is there a preference either way though? Sounds like the ropeman 1 is much preferred VS the 2 for ease of use. The kong duck is reviewed very favorably.

I'm ready to make this upgrade for ease of adjustment to my treestrap. The bridge is easy to adjust compared to the treestrap. Sometimes that dang treestrap gets cinched down so tight it takes me a couple of minutes to work the prusik loose enough to slide around. Also the whole two handed adjustment deal...

Bought mine at campsaver.com and they were like $27 each. I bought (2) and that got me free shipping. Last I checked they were sold out.

Looks like the ropeman 1 is out of stock / backordered just about everywhere...

I think i'll give the kong duck a shot. Amazon prime can have it to me in 2 days

I totally agree. I love the ropeman so much, I have two: one for my lineman's, one for my tree tether. Can't beat the 1-handed adjustability.

That's funny I ordered one last Wednesday from Amazon and it is being delivered to my door today?

I only see the Ropeman MK2 on there. No biggie. Not in any rush to get it.

Got it last night and its definitely a ropeman 1 - guess I got the last one :(
