Whelp. I found some bedding, but the deer seem to have vamoosed out of my area. Nothing much on cams either. I’m scrambling to try and figure out fall patterns.

You too! I'm about ready to abandon this public thing and go take some people up on private hahaha. I've got at least one good spot. Seems my intel fell apart and I gotta figure the fall patterns out, it's all part of it though! I'm enjoying learning!
Public has been kicking my butt too. I keep hunting areas “where deer should be” like tv crap I keep getting stuck on. Find fresh sign or I’m not gonna set up

Public wasn’t working for me either. I gave it 3 full days with only 1 doe in sight but way out of range. I finally hit my private honey hole on the fourth day and had a doe down within 2 hours. She even ran about 300 yards back towards my truck and finally dropped 15 yards from where I parked. Can’t get any better than that unless she would have just jumped in the back for me

Gotta love when that happens. Had a buck years ago run and drop in front of my barn. I was gutting him with his buddies about 200 yards away just watching and grazing.

I had another hunt this evening. I eased in to a little stand of hardwoods off in a corner and set up over a red oak showing some feeding sign. I had confidence in the spot, but nothing showed. Used my 2TC kit again tonight. It worked great. I got pretty high up tonight. After I set up, I looked around and said "I'm pretty far up here" so I took out my range finder and ranged to the ground. It said 10 yards.

I pulled a camera that I have had soaking for quite a while in a little out of the way, hard to get too spot. I put it out in July and pulled it today. I got a decent buck on camera in there.

Hunting with the Dryad right now. Its sweet and very comfortable. As of this moment its more comfortable then my Recon. Brainstorm, it would be Cadillac if it has internal pockets. I can use my phone, grunt call, snack, without needing to reach far. Im thinking about using a water hydration bladder as extra back cushion.

Comparetively speaking, the Recon is a torture device. Loving the Drey as well. I had a green one, but jumped at the chance to buy a one off in ASAT 3d. To date, my favorite saddle.

Lunch break. Saw this about 10 yards from main hiking trails. Should l consider setting up close for evening hunt when there are less hikers? Or too close to human preset? I do see some historical rubs in area

That's a tough question to answer. My thoughts are that rubs and scrapes in open areas generally are visited at night. If it is in on near thick cover, it might be good to sit, or try to push in closer to security cover. Any oaks nearby showing feeding sign? If you could find a feed tree in cover that might be the ticket.

Agree with a lot of what @NMSbowhunter said. I'd push in away from the trail closer to food/cover
