50ish. Id like to wait longer, but my area is infested with yotes. I want to try to look this afternoonYou will likely have a dead deer, but I'd give it quite a bit of time. What's the temperature like?
Blood trail will likely be better than at least. I would expect him to be bedded close by. hopefully he'll die in his bed before you get there, but I would proceed as though he's bedded down watching his backtrailReverse. Entry was stomach lungs exit.
Good luck. Hate to hear about all the coyotes. Really puts some regrettable urgency into finding him.50ish. Id like to wait longer, but my area is infested with yotes. I want to try to look this afternoon
I can bring you my dog but may be 8 hr drive...Aight we got broken fletchings, blood and unfortunately stomach on the arrow. Backing out. I didn't take up the trail the shot was only 15 yards away. He was pretty hard quartering away. Time to go get me a Carmel brulee Latte
He only went about 30 yards. I heard him after he disappeared into the thick stuff, then it went quiet. A couple minutes later I hear more commotion sounding like from the same place. I went to look for him, following a really worn game trail that went in the direction he did too. I didn't see any blood at all. I walked to the property line and kept looking for blood, still nothing. I backtracked the trail he used when he took off, and instead of going left at the fork (in the direction it sounded like he went) I went right. Sure enough, I saw the weeist amount of blood on a leaf. Ahead on the trail I saw more on a log, then more on some grass. Then I thought I saw him, I grabbed my binos and sure enough it was him!Gun opener on michigan, went to a historically good spot. Just shot at a nice buck, he took off into the thickets to the right of the bigger tree in the middle. Didn't sound like he went far, but that's also toward private land. Giving him an hour then going to look.
