LWCG Crossover Climber Reviews

How would you compare it to sitting in a 1.0? Been full time in that stand for 3 seasons now. I heard someone mention it was comparable to a .5 and that turned me off.

The platform length is short. It feels in between a .5 and .75 me. A .5 I felt like my feet were tucked under me. But it doesn’t have the length of my .75. When sitting…. When standing it has more room than the .5/.75/1.0 there are no cables to deal with and it’s more alpha shape in the back of the stand.

1.0 vs crossover

I have not thought much about the platform size. The 17" wide top is too narrow for my big butt.

I thought that would be the case also and if you are using just the webbing maybe… but with the cushion you are sitting on top above the seat. Its not like the old sit and climbs where you are sitting down inside the frame.

When on the cushion, do you hit the seat frame? I had a M7 and always fought to stay off back seat frame.

Definitely itching to get one. Maybe next season, $1k is a lotta chedda' for a stand.

Then again, $375 was a lot for my LWHC 18 years ago, in terms of my income at the time. Yet that stand has been the best gear purchase I ever made.

I still prefer saddle hunting when toting the gun. The crossover + saddle would make a sweet get-up for rifle hunting.

I got the feeling I'll have one next season. Especially if we find out the platform handles side pressure

Make climbers great again. I’m glad that the Crossover will hopefully breathe some life into the climber market. I’d carry a few more pounds to save $500 or so. Interested to see what XOP ends up coming out with. I’ve sat in several areas this season where I could have easily used a climber. I had the XOP Strike Force hand climber at one point. I sold it but I liked that it packed flat and was relatively light. I thought it was kind of a PITA to climb with but maybe it was just me.

I fall under the weight limit, even with gear. And from what’s being said here, the room and comfort are suffice. The 18in max tree size, scares me. I have a tough time finding climber friendly trees sometimes and that makes it a little tougher.

Adjusted for inflation that was almost $600 in today's money, no wonder it seemed expensive at the time :D

$1k is a lot but the way I've been trying to look at some of this high end stuff is that I probably have $1k in unused stands collecting dust right now. If I sold all that unused stuff and bought one awesome stand I will use it would be worth it to upgrade and simplify.

These are machined not cast bud. Apples VS Oranges…. Go price a 2x2 5/8” 6061 T6 aluminum plate. It will cost you $450+

Hey bud I understand the difference between cast and machined. My point was that $1k is a lot of money but when you adjust for inflation, it isn’t totally out of line with what we’ve paid for high end stands in the past especially given the advancements of these new stands.

It appears to me that the seat sets out a little from the tree which would help a sloucher like myself (biggest issue with lockons is needing to sit straight up)
