Are people carrying sticks in the load shelf
Vertical or horizontal? I had mine laid out this afternoon and I’d much rather them be vertical but the skeletons standoffs are beefy.

outside the pack with some compression straps seem like my best option to just g-hook them into the same webbing as the side buckles maybe?

I don't have Skeletor sticks. Have you tried running them in pairs on each side of the pack?

Supposing I couldn't sew, owned a PU28, and needed to make it work right now for my needs/preferences:
  • Replace the front buckle with an ITW GT Cobra buckle (solely personal preference)
  • Replace every single buckle I could with open-ended ITW buckles or ITW Waveloc buckles as appropriate for increased modularity
  • Figure out a way to use the existing open webbing loops, open-ended buckles, Grimloc buckles, or whatever it took to use the MR Backstrap or Stick-it at the same time as the main bag, to increase my options for strapping gear to my pack (a load shelf frequently isn't ideal)
    • Alternatively, two sets of webbing and buckles could be added to the four unused webbing loops on the bag, to strap down a tripod, bow, etc.
  • Add a storage pouch to at least one side of the hip belt
If I could sew a little bit:
  • Add loops of webbing to the back of the bag, in-line with the original attachment points, so that I can attach my buckles there when I need to use the load shelf, and can cinch down a load without also smashing the contents of my bag/making them impossible to access--this and the narrow load shelf are big gripes I have with the pack.
I hope this gives you some ideas!

If one were to keep the stock buckles, these would be useful; https://www.camofire.com/index.php/Deals/49

You don’t even need a full game bag just an attached pouch to help contain the bagged meat.
The problem being quarters try to squirt out the sides under the straps? Wondering if a buckle/strap attached to the sides of the game bag about 1/3 of the way up would work to just be able to hook it to anything? I haven't field quartered yet but dang it I'm gonna learn and use this popup for meat instead of platforms

6’ of paracord or a spare webbing strap worked for the dozen or so I packed. Never had an issue. Deboned meat or full quarters.

@HuumanCreed I went ahead and got the argali bags (and tent) because after posting I checked their website again and they are having a black Friday sale. Basically got the bags for free because I bought a tent I don't need lol. They have tabs for tie out points in the bottom corners, I'm thinking I'll be able to use a small biner or clip to attach from there to the straps of the bag to keep it in place. I'll post whenever I get a chance to test it out.

You guys are going to be kicking yourselves when you see how nice the new Popups are, :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

That's probably an accurate prediction for a good number of people here, possibly myself included. We're always a 'grass is greener' group, but if this pack can last me 3-5 years, its a good nicotine patch against my addiction.

FYI, Fedex tracking said Friday baby!
