New Gear for 2023, Go!

This will piss people off that bought the “speed pass”… oh well!

Here you go:

Dare I ask if you pulled the trigger and bought them? You know I'm right there with you.

I bought them… Huntwise membership gives you 20% off
Waiting for Enkriss's review to pull the trigger. About the same weight. Want someone to flex on them and see what they'll take. They look flexy to me.

I wonder how the stand off distance is?
They are not for me, they have all the same issues as the One sticks.

Personally I learned that my personality can not handle a 6 month presale situation! Something about paying to have the product produced and rarely hitting the target date for release does not sit well with me. At least that is my experience from previous pre sales with exodus and LWCG. I am curious to see the reviews from customers.

What issues? Other than a little more stand off distance One sticks are the best all around stick on the mkt right now.

If they work for you great. But they are not for me.
Since you asked.
Let's not bring up that they are made in China or they have the famous Tethrd quality control, let's just look at the sticks.
I use sticks when conditions are challenging. Bigger trees, cold Temps, ect.
Each person needs to decide what is the most important features to them when choosing sticks.
For me the most important thing is climability. When I am climbing big trees I like to use my hands to grab the top step. With the combo stand off/step their is nothing to grab with the Tethrd or Latitude sticks.
Stand off distance for a guy with size 14 boots affect climability, again they both fail.
Aider friendly affects climabilty. I like cable aiders and versa aiders. I use both at the same time. Easy 4 steps per stick. Can't do that with the One sticks or the Latitude sticks.
How solid is the stick on a tree? Big question for me on both sticks.
Choice of attachment method again no choice. With my sticks anything goes.
The other thing that is important to me is packability. You can't beat LWCG single step sticks or the Shikar sticks.
OK I understand weight is important, but if I can't climb on the sticks the way I need to, to be efficent, what good are they?

Just saw a pick of 5 One Sticks on a .5.

They are the lightest (2 step, double step, 3rd revision) stick, sure.

I agree! Not hating but I don’t understand 5 sticks at 5 pounds vs my 3 sticks at 6 pounds. I know some guys don’t like aiders and what not. They dont bother me so that’s definitely part of it.

Agree that the steps are crowded in terms of stand offs. I wear size 12 and 13 boots and that is my only issue with them. But they are doable once you use them enough. Don't care that they are made in China. Gen 3's are very well made with tight tolerances. USA made would be great but at what cost? Don't like Amsteel or cable aiders. Amsteel too light and flimsey to get into, and wire drives into a rubber boot. Climbability with them boils down to method. I start by leaving them stacked hanging from an S-biner on my saddle. Separate one stick at a time as I climb to set each stick. Try that with LWCG or Shikars. I have an amsteel loop on the top of each stick for the climb down to not have to deal with alignment for re-stacking. I use the stock "Chinasteel" ropes, and have 2-step web strap aider on the bottom step, and single step aiders on the rest. I grab the stick just above the tie off rather than from the step to climb. I'm 245 lbs. and with just a hand set they are rock solid for me. Never a surprise slip, then grip. Tethrd Ones stack pretty darn nicely and at a weight savings over any other stick. Which for me is the leading factor for any stick.
