Is that dark material on the low back part of the saddle? Looks like it goes under the Molle and under the lighter material. Not a Sitka guy but I don't recall seeing that on their stuff

I met up with my stepfather after a hunt in the 80's when he was around 75 years old. He was so excited, couldn't hardly speak. We had both been seeing a 14 point with a drop tine almost a foot long over his left eye, massive whitetail. Turns out he was asleep in a leaning tree blind next to a creek and fence row and woke to see the buck coming down the trail about 30 yards away. He had to slowly pick up his bow and nock an arrow and he dropped his bow as the buck passed under his tree. I will never forget what he said: "The buck jumped, turned and sniffed the bow and walked away and if I had taken another bow with me, I could have shot him."
