New Gear Release 2022!

Thinking about trying this jacket out. The handwarmer pockets set at chest height seem pretty convenient for being in a saddle.

That looks pretty nice, decent price too

I’ll be taking my chances and ordering one Friday…

That’s roughly 1.25 pounds lighter than the regular Seeker. Not a huge difference, but should be noticeable.

And is nearly 2in longer and 3in less in width….

The feature that sells me on the seeker is the angled front. It’s 16in long with the angle compared to the fix’s 12in. And they’re basically the same width, with the seeker mini being lighter. I don’t see the advantage with the Fix.

To clarify, the Fix is 12.5L and 12W.

You're not going to be able to stand and turn on 16" of Mini Seeker, so I'm not sure what advantage that 16" "length" is providing. The angled front is a nice feature, but I don't see validity in a 16" vs 12" long platform comparison.

Actually, an oft voiced complaint is that the further the angled front (or straight front for that matter) is from the tree the poorer for leaning, as that geometry creates more pull into the tree.

Not that the mini Seeker won't be great, just don't think the platform size is greatly advantageous over the Fix in the way you imply.

The angled front puts you too far from the tree. You will stick out from the tree even worse and will have a greater pendulum effect.

Gimmicky feature imo.

I’m interested to try a platform with a slanted front lip. I think in about 5 minutes in a tree I’d know if it was for me or not.

The angle is definitely no gimmick. I’ve got a predator xl and a seeker. The predator hasn’t been on a tree all season… I’m mainly a sitter or some variation of standing close to the tree with one knee on the tree where I can pivot, but from time to time I will stand up and use the angle. It’s much easier on the foot that a standard flat platform. With the seeker mini being longer, it will provide more foot room for those with bigger feet.

Guess I am the odd ball I don’t like angled platforms. Scout, UP you name it… they are all to much angle for my preference

I took one for the team at 3am when I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep. I haven’t used a platform in two years, but thought I’d check it out. Although I am a little skeptical because as I stated… within the last couple weeks I saw a comment from them that they sent them back because they didn’t like the quality. Idk… and now I can’t find the comment. We shall see what happens!
