No options? I can’t imagine something better than the predator. Purpose built by saddle hunters for saddle hunters. You’re not gonna break a gen 2.

I've got a handfull of screw in steps that I've thought about using two. One on each side of the tree to be used in conjunction with the predator. Also to give me another position for footing when sitting for so long.

This might help.
As far as cost goes it differs greatly with the build. Average DIY using "all new " components is around 120.00. Average cost of say an XOP DIY build like shown in the video from 80.00 which is what this on cost up to the all new price.
XOP posts can be sourced at about 6 dollars each from www.metalsupermarkets.com
XOP stand offs/cleats 9.95 each , Versa button 5.00.
XOP seat and pad with hardware 69.95
Hack saw , drill, 5/16 open end and 3/8 drive ratchet

I don't recall their name. Its just the plain jane metal ones that are green. I think they are like 2 or 3 dollars a piece
I'm assuming that you are hunting where it's legal to screw steps so I would use bolts instead of the steps you describe. You are probably using Ameristep screw-in. They absolutely suck to install and are bulky and noisy to carry. I have several dozen Ameristeps and they will be all going up for sale after I get them all gathered up.
And there are some guys that have added small wood pieces on bolts for foot rests to make them more comfortable.

Just found this video. Looks like lots of guyz jumping on the commercial end of things now . Should produce some interesting products.
