Hey guys, I just couldn't get the stability of the treesuit style platform out of my mind. I welded this one up this summer to use in the fall. Instead of using the expanded steel sheet for the top (which was not cost effective for me and added almost zero strength) I used a steel tube offcut. I wear a size 13 and I cant seem to get my foot down through those holes any way I try and I have been shooting out of it and doing observations maybe 4 times a week. This picture shows some supports at the back which I have since removed since they prevent the strap from being all the way against the horizontals and lead to more camming action on the strap. I also upped the dimensions a bit, wider and deeper, to give me more real estate with my larger boots. I figure if I need a longer draw length on my bow than some, I probably would do better with a platform size that fits my boot. So far I am really liking this creation.
