Out on a Limb solo scout

I put 2 steps on the strap and I see no reason why I couldn't sit all day. I normally take a lunch and a pee bottle.

Looks perfect for the 2 hour sits.

It’s surprisingly comfortable for its size. I have done an all day sit with a perch and one more WE step for weak side shots. With the scouts angle you actually have more support than when your feet are just pressing on the outer edge of the platform. I’m thinking of adding a few tree hopper steps to the strap and I would not be worried about comfort during an all day sit with it.

I thought about this but was concerned about the straps possibly getting pinched behind the teeth .

I want a predator/scout hybrid. I’ve never liked the looks of how out on a limb platforms cam over.

Once they are cammed they don’t move though. I personally am not a fan of platforms. I like to be closer to the tree this with a step or 2 might be perfect for me.

Am I the only one thinking two scouts would give awesome maneuverability and still weigh no more than a Predator or Ridge Runner?

I’m thinking sort of along the same lines. I have an Artisan Outdoor Fabrication platform on my Helium stick, which I one-stick climb and hunt with. However foot room is limited, especially for shooting around the tree. This Scout platform in addition to what I’m already carrying could be the ticket to shoot 360 degrees.

Something like that and a squirrel step on each side would be rad. Maybe I’ll buy one and see how the cam is. Just never really liked the look of it, but then again, I’ve never tried one in person.

Just buy a shikar stick and a scout platform.I had them make me a strait scout last week and had a chance to use it over the weekend for one stcck climbing. It worked awesome.I wanted a strait platform so I could pivot to the right and shoot any deer on my weak side without having to walk around the tree. The scout on the shikar, sticks out from the tree far enough that I can put one foot on the top of the stick and the other foot on the scout to shoot that way.

Been using the stacked outdoors stick to one stick and as a platform. Sticks out pretty far from trees and is wide enough to be comfy under my shoes. Plenty of grip when i push on the sides too. Adjustments.jpg

Got my scout solo. I don’t know. I think I need to just stick to a ring of steps.

It cammed good. I prefer my ring of steps. These size 13s don’t maneuver well in tight places or angles.
Thanks for this tidbit of info enkriss. I was debating on saving some $$$ and trying out the Solo instead of the other platforms almost 2x's the cost, but I am right there with you on the shoe size issue. Being this will be my first journey away from climber/ladder stands I think I'll just invest in a Ridge Runner or Predator and be happy I spent the extra money upfront for a little extra comfort.

I have one sticking or should I say one platforming with my Scout with a couple of steps on the strap. Makes for a nice setup but I have only size 9.5 boots. It really cams tight on the tree and the angle is perfect for a leaner.

Waiting and going to experiment with a moveable platform version of 1 sticking. In my system that I have been experimenting with( using a OOAL Shikar with Scout and LW wire aider) for now I place my platform at head level and place my cinched climbing line above the step using a stickI fabricated. I then rope walk up and step onto step/platform and then advance the climbing line up the tree, rappell down grab stick /platform ascend up line place step and repeat. If it works out I will have no need for an aider and when at height have my platform .

I am not following what you are doing. Are you basically doing a combination of srt and one plat forming
