Out on a Limb solo scout

I just got 4 tree hopper steps in the mail on monday. They work awesome with his over the center buckle .Is there enough room to turn sideways and shoot from your weak side?

A hybrid design would be nice with a piece of C channel welded in the middle with holes so it could be mounted to sticks or used as a stand alone platform still.

If I’m picturing what you are saying right I would say no.

If you spin around the tree and put your heel on the back side of the platform is about the best way I see to make the weak side shot. With 1-2 steps on the weak side would make it easier but I could take that shot without them by putting my knee up on the tree to stabilize.

(Left handed shooter)

You know what would be killer, is if OOAL could make it in two pieces. So, if someone already owns the scout platform for their sticks, they could just buy the back bracket portion. Then, bolt them together and turn their scout stick platform into a solo scout platform.

I definitely get what you are saying but for me I wouldn’t want to have to detach and reinstall all the time. Especially since you can get the solo scout and scout for same price as 90% of the platforms out therefore if not cheaper. I was going to order a predator platform but went this route for the 2 for 1 price lol.

Mine just got dropped off. By far best bang for your buck platform out there. I’ve found for me half arch/half heel is perfect. I even went and grabbed my winter boots and it’s definitely going to work year round for me.

When did you place your order? I ordered mine on 4/24 haven't received a shipping notification yet.

I've been away from the forum for a while but things have finally settled down so I'm back. This is very cool, so glad I found my way back and stumbled on this thread.

Looks like the scout could be modded to add two standoffs & be a stand-alone platform. The top is already drilled for a stand off. Looks like you could drill the bottom yellow dot to accept another standoff.

I'd trade 4 Squirrel Steps on an OCB for one of these solo scouts. Takers? Any takers? :)

Anyone have more experience with this platform? I’m new and was looking at the predator but this seems like a way better move if it’s comfortable enough for an all day sit

I was thinking about getting the ridge runner this summer, but now rethinking it. Could someone with experience with both talk me in to the scout. Last year hunted exclusively with the bullmanROS.
