Overwatch Orion

Hey guys - hope I can get some feedback from all of you on the belt. I'm having Jamie build me an Orion soon. I was set on getting the raptor buckle for the belt, but reading through here it seems like guys really like the rope belt. Any feedback from those who have used both would be appreciated. I had a TX5 Reaper and the one thing I didn't like it when I loaded up my dump pouches and put my Doyle's gear hoist on one of the gear loops, the saddle wanted to sag down and wasn't comfortable to walk with, Wondering if a rope belt would get tighter and prevent the saddle from sagging. Either way...looking forward to trying an Overwatch saddle!
I have the rope belt on mine and I love it. There is no sag from the belt loosening, the prussic does not move. I was a little concerned that the rope would dig in to my waist and be uncomfortable however the only time I think about the belt is when I put it on and take it off, so if I am not thinking about the belt while it is doing its job, then it's a job well done.

I tried a rope belt but for me i dont want the chance for digging to ever happen bc i keep my waist buckle tight. I prefer the comfort of the webbing belt more. But theyre both awesome, comes down to what you want personally.

i think I recall someone in this thread configuring theirs with both options

Well I can't beleave I am saying this but I went to hook up with Jamie and I tried both of his saddles, I came home with a Transformer. Now Jamie is a nice guy, but for some strange reason I enjoyed talking to his girl friend just a little bit more, LOL.
I hope Jamie takes no offense to my comments, that man is built like a rock!

She’s a lot nicer to look at than my ugly mug lol

Alright….. got my Orion in the mail today and had to swap everything over and hang it for a minute. First impressions were, man this thing is bombproof. I really like the longer lineman loops compared to the XC. I can see me walking in with the panel closed, but when I get in the tree go ahead and open it up and leave it open for the duration of the hunt.

On the Saddle Hunter guy’s YouTube channel, he didn’t care for the bridge rope, but I don’t see anything wrong with it at all. It’s very easily adjusted. It’s very comfortable when leaning or sitting. Just as comfortable as the XC to me, but a WAY better build. Not even close.

Can you post a pic of the panel open? This is the only saddle I am interested in getting next over my XC.

I do the same thing as I mostly sit. Walk in with it closed (doesn’t fall open ever) then open it up and settle in.

I walk in with it closed and then adjust the amount of pleat openness for that particular hang based on comfort. If it is a long hang I will also adjust the amount open just to change things up. On sub-4hr hunts this year I found myself hunting from my UOS without my EDP because the saddle was so comfortable. With my phantom I could never hunt with just the UOS. With my phantom I would have to get my hips/butt in saddle shape at the start of each season. After a couple long sits the hip pinch would not be as noticeable. I never had any soreness or hip pinch with the orion.

Enjoy!
