Unfortunately, the level of detail translates to every aspect, not just packs hahaha!
As an unorganized person I have some admiration and some fear for those with that level of OCD
That said, I have taken a somewhat simpler approach to modularity. Basically I have 3 scenarios. 1. Quick hunt 2. Day hunt 3. Back packing.
I have a Kuiu Pro Frame
1. Quick hunt to day hunt
Load Hauler + Accessory Pouch
This may be my go to this year because of the simplicity, that is if I can make it work. The thought is bare necessities in the accessory pouch and hip pouches. Saddle, ropes, clothes, fix platform in between the load hauler. This would be my early season and lite set up which also allows me to haul a deer out. If I need extra room for small things I would add the lid from my 5500 LT bag.
2. quick hunt to day hunt
2300 Pro Bag
Is the alternative to the load hauler + pouch combo and what I used for part of last season. It’s a good size bag (I came from the venture 2300, so it’s almost identical but with more features) for day trips and has nice internal pockets for gear organization. It is still on the frame so packing out deer is still there. I end up not using the bag much and just lashing everything to the outside so I’m wondering if the load hauler will be simpler and accomplish the same thing with less bulk.
Day to week backpacking
5500 Pro LT pack with lid
This is my back packing pack. It’s nice and big to stuff a sleeping bag and other camp items in but made from a little lighter weight cordura. The lid gives me a little extra day storage and organization, while the main bag focuses on bulk storage. I’ve been pleased with this simple set up for weekend back packing trips but it could easily for a week trip. Sometimes it’s nice having a bigger back than you need. It makes putting stuff in it easy. Simply suck down the extra fabric and go.
All of the items can attach and work together on this frame so I might find something that works better as a hybrid. I may use the accessory pouch to organize some things that can be attached to any system. That way I’m not looking in new pockets each time for stuff. I’ll try to get some pictures of my set up in the near future for fun show and tell. Lol
