Pursuit platforms

Hmm....might have to give this thing a try.

What's the size side to side and tree to end? I don't think that is on the website!
I'm loving mine! No flex for me at all. With the EWO cam buckle that comes with, it is super solid on the tree. I'm really, really, really, really, liking it. I have used both the shallower and steeper angle sides, I don't care for the steep angle side. It is super light and fits right in my pack sideways. IMHO there is a lot to like.

I used it this year. I was in on the original batch. I really liked it. I typically found myself placing it just about a foot over my top stick. It’s absolutely rock solid. I weigh 170# naked (picture that…sorry in advance) anyway it’s super light, easy to connect, and is super comfy. Side pressure is fine, no issues.

This may be a dumb question, but I’m gonna ask anyway. I shoot to my weak side by putting my back to the tree and having my tether diagonally across my chest. Can you do that with this platform?

You absolutely can, however it does have a slight angle and you would have to probably lean into your tether across your chest. if that makes sense.

I have been using my Pursuit exclusively for the past few weeks. I have used several different platforms in the past and have never used one that handles side pressure as good as the Pursuit.
It’s solid

Are they coming out with any new versions that anyone is aware of? I want one, eventually, but with 2023 season far off....I can wait if they have something new and improved coming out.

Good question, I would like to see what they might release in 2022 as well.

Just a quick note for people that are on the fence about this platform.

I went back and forth earlier in the year about this platform. Decided to go with the predator because it was a bit bigger. Recently I got a good deal on a used Pursuit. Threw it in a tree and was able to answer all of my concerns. It isn’t a big platform but it’s roughly the same size as my predator from the end of the post to the end of the platform, if that makes sense.

The pursuit was solid on the tree. Didn’t move a bit. Very comfortable. I was also able to turn and put my back to the tree as I would if I was attempting a weak side shot. Another thing that I value about it is that because it’s not metal it didn’t freeze my hands when I was putting it on the tree or taking it off. It’s also pretty light.

If you like smaller platforms this is a good option.

I have not used my Cruzr Mini Seeker once since I got this Pursuit. I'm about 200# in the saddle; not sure how the Pursuit would handle bigger guys.

So you do not see the bend that is in the pictures and videos posted?

There's a reason why they've developed a 2nd version of this platform with more internal supports. I've used one all season at an optimistic 245# with no issues. There have been people that have had issues and to my knowledge Pursuit has stood behind their product and made it right for them. Also to my knowledge no one has reported the platform sagging after prolonged use, it either holds up or it doesn't, so if a lightweight platform interests you I think its a pretty safe option to investigate and see if you like it.

I've used mine the whole last half of the season. I love it! I had no problems with it in cold weather, warm weather, none of that stuff. The EWO cam buckle strap they use snugs that sucker right up. Its light as heck, is way quieter than the metal "tuning forks" on the market and I throw it in the pack.... it'll fit most packs horizontally and if your pack is super narrow it'll fit no problamo vertical for sure. Really like it so far. Pursuit2022-2023.jpg

just ordered me one...on sale for 100 bucks right now

gonna put the top of my top stick to the left so i can get around the tree more

anyone try something other than the OCB? i'm thinking @Samcirrus 's tourniquet method with amsteel might work....will probably make an ultralight tourniquet cranker using a stiff spine carbon arrow buried/glued inside an aluminum arrow

No I haven’t, the OCB works so well and is quick.
