Boy-O-Boy, I'm sure glad I got one of the light ones!
I was hoping you'd get a lot 2 to try this time, but I'm excited to see the more reinforced version come out. I was hoping you'd choose to try that version out and see if it's really an improvement or not. This is great progress! I feel these guys want to make a lasting impression on the Saddle Hunting Community. A few more oz wont make or break this platform. I'll contact Pursuit after work and hope to get one of the first upgraded platforms. Just hope its before hunting season!

I won’t be using it however. It just has too much flex for my sensibilities. I’m at 220lbs right now and you can see from the pic the middle was flexing in, that’s to be expected with plastic. Fully kitted out I’m prolly 240. But when I tried to toe off the front I got a much more severe angle of collapse and when I tried to toe off the side the entire platform would twist and flex. I don’t know that it would fail or break but that’s not a chance I want to take when I’m 20+ odd feet off the ground. I wouldn’t be able to settle. Being able to trust your gear is paramount and unfortunately that’s a fail for me.
Ah I missed that post, thanks for the info. Yeah I really need to stop asking them to super size my meals.@Exhumis - that's understandable - and at a kitted out weight of 240 lbs that puts you right up there with @RMcDonald7 so I think that's a good call on your part. If you like the platform, though, you should call them to arrange an exchange for the V2 once it's available. Pics of V2 are shown in post 239 of this thread if you missed them.
I think they could totally make a larger thicker one and still have an ultralight platform.@RMcDonald7 - I think you’re coming across exactly as you intended - I didn’t take anything you shared as bashing in any way … you just shared your experience and the results that can be expected for a guy at your weight. Those of us who encourage innovation and would like to see the creators succeed were hoping you’d have better results with the replacement they sent you. But it is what it is - your results speak for themselves. I posted my results since I’m at a lower weight and like you, I figured it may help some folks to decide if a Pursuit platform is a good option for them.
I hope Pursuit offers an updated design that won’t buckle for guys up to 300 lbs - since most saddle hunting gear seems to be rated up to that limit. But even if they don’t, I think they should adjust the recommended weight limit for this model down to a value that is not ever going to buckle the platform.
Count me in!I'll buy 1 when u have them ready
I’m about the same size and when trying it out it feels soft. Not scary to me though. If I didn’t see the video and photos from the side I wouldn’t think twice about standing on it. I’m going to use mine this season as a short sit platform and as a secondary platform to my seeker and I think it’s going to be perfect for it.Well I finally got mine and I’ll add my 2 cents for what it’s worth:
It’s very lightweight and the supplied ocb buckle worked fine for me. The teeth bite hard and it was stable. I was able to get both my size 13s on it only just to give you an idea how large it is. The size is good if you want to use a platform but don’t want something large. The concept of it being double sided for a leaner or sitter is brilliant.
