Rock climbing harness for hunters

I just don't like that metal buckle at all screams noise to meView attachment 65292
I can understand that. I have the belt and have not had an issue with noise.
Also there is something about a big metal buckle that makes me feel comfortable.

My thinking is that my Recon was about the same price and can be dual purpose.
I think guys are looking at these for tree stand hunting.
l also have a Recon and it is a nice saddle. But I am climbing with aiders so I use my linesman and tether. The linesman is not going to save me on a vertical fall. The plastic leg straps on the Recon are useless if you take a vertical fall. I upgraded my leg straps to 4,000 webbing and steel buckles. I also have a Dryad with load bearing leg straps, and Transformer has load bearing leg straps.
Now all my climbing gear is the best I could find, but things can go wrong. A grade 8 bolt on a versa button can be defective. I also use Tree Hopper steps. They are rated at over 1,000 Lbs, but they are polymer and can I trust them??
When I ordered 12 Tree Hopper steps I weighed them. Eleven of them weighed 5oz each. One weighed 3oz. Was that one defective?? I contacted Mark and he replaced the step and wanted the 3oz step returned.

Saddle are not safety harnesses!! and this one from John is really the same as a rock harness with LM loops and really lightweight!

The kill deer is the version without the metal dloop buckle. It’s very nice walking in and adding the leg straps at the tree. Very minimalist… but I don’t want to fall with it on. It will stop you from hitting the ground and dying but it is pretty painful hanging from.

Looks like they may have updated the kill deer leg straps? That was my biggest complaint. Doesn’t have the metal buckle. I’m not sure what the different is between the two besides the metal d loop?

The strap kinda sucks also and way over priced. I bought it and had high hopes for one sticking with it. No way in hell…lol

I'm think I'm gunna go with the green version Jason showed in the video. It seems super light and minimalistic and noise free. If it hurts like hell to fall in is what it is long as I'm alive. I swore I'd cut down on hunting expenses this year dramatically but this is something I gotta have.

Rock climbing with harness thay fall and hang some times that's what rock harness are made for! I use a black Diamond with dynamic rope as a tree tether. The harness from Tactisaddle will be no different for me.

I just ordered one it's a lot better than my black dimond mod. He is gonna make some different versions soon with custom features.

Yep, sure beats any of my mods. I’ve searched the internet many times for rc harness with lineman loops because I’ve never liked the mods. This seems to be what I was looking for, I must have missed the dryad one.

It’s a fall arrest harness with the fall arrest portion cut off. With the top and lanyard removed it just becomes a work positioning harness which isn’t gonna feel good in a fall since there is nothing to decrease the dynamic force.

Dynamic rope, a little bit of give is better than no give. Some folks use the screamers or what not for additional protection. Are you seeing something different than a rock harness?

This has been discussed quite a bit and I decided didn’t look like short sections of dynamic help much, went with a screamer.

What are you guys using to attach to your tether? Using any kind of rope between the harness and the tether or hooking straight up to the tether?
