Does anyone have this system for saddle hunting cold wet weather? So I can’t decide between the incinerator and the fanatic. I am strictly a hardcore bow hunter, I 99 percent of the time hunt from a saddle and I take some mighty long journeys in the Southern Ohio and Kentucky mountains. I am really wanting extreme warmth with least amount of bulk and minimal noise when maneuvering around the tree with my saddle setup! I’ve read about every review I can find but nothing really covers the key aspects for me like, is the incinerator too noisy for a bow hunter, and is the new style really warm? Looking for as much info as possible before ordering a set, thanks and God Bless!

I’ve had both, the original incinerator. Sold the incinerator due to didn’t need both and it was louder than I’d like. Too loud? Honestly couldn’t say.

I’ve heard the new one isn’t nearly as warm as the original incinerator.

Personally I’d go fanatic and deal with the lil extra bulk and lack of packability.

Btw, and most importantly. Unless you get one of those 40% off codes I’d buy used. I have most of my Sitka gear and I’ve gotten some really good deals.

I've got gen 1 incinerator so not sure if my review will be helpful.. I specifically searched out the gen 1 over gen 2. I had the fanatic and my incinerator is one of my favorite pieces of clothing for sure. Cold doesn't touch it and my gauge for warmth is not feeling any cold temp through my clothes when it's below freezing. I will say that the more you wear the incinerator the quieter it gets. The noise comes from being waterproof. My set is hushed enough to bow hunt with and not get busted from a buck under my tree. It's all a trade off... Get the fanatic and wear layers underneath and your clothes bulk up or get the incinerator with less layers and the same bulk. Between the new fanatic and new incinerator I'd get the fanatic if you don't care about waterproof. It is definitely quiet.

I had the fanatic set last year, sold it and bought the incinerator set for this year.
For me the fanatic set was amazing for keeping you warm, but was just too bulky. The incinerator set this year is not as quiet as the fanatic but it isn’t too noisy to bow hunt in. I think it’s like most things hunting, it’s all personal preference.
I hunt Michigan so I probably couldn’t get away with it, but I know people that wear the stratus set with a fanatic vest over it.

How do you think the noise would compare to the Iwom suit? I have one of those and while I have never been the least bit chilled or wet in this suit, but it is just too bulky for my style of hunting. If I were a gun hunter I wouldn’t be looking for another suit to wear. It is truly everything it was advertised to be just too much material for my build!

Best way to go is fanatic top, incinerator bottoms. Incinerator top for me is way to loud.
As has been mentioned, id only go incinerator if I found a deal on them. Got my incinerator bibs this year after the season for under 400. 700 for 1 piece is absolute insanity

I will say I get the discount, so it was easier for me to switch. I think it comes down to bulk vs noise. The 2024 version just doesnt seem loud to me. The fanatic was just too bulky for my preference.
I will say I never once got cold wearing the fanatic but I thought it was a pain in the butt getting it on in the tree.

The new incinerator is not as warm as the old incinerator. It’s louder than the fanatic but not crazy loud by any means.

If you are going to pack in the incinerator packs down very small in comparison to the fanatic. If you want warmth I would just get the fanatic.

This is the answer.

I know you asked about Sitka specifically but I can recommend Nomad’s Cottonwood Top. It’s plenty warm and quiet and they usually have a great deal going about this time. I’ve worn that thing in nasty rain and wind and it does a darn good job. We get some pretty tough weather here in WNY during the season. My bibs are just anything old thing I have. For me the top is what seals the deal. I agree with you about the IWOM and it is somewhat bulky but I can sit in that thing forever and a day and just wear a base layer and light stretch pants and a hoody in, climb and then start the space suit process of getting in the iwom.

Yes, the Iwom is fantastic except for the bulk, I’m holding on to it until after I try the incinerator, if it doesn’t perform well enough I’ll sell it and keep the Iwom! If I were a gun hunter I wouldn’t have been looking for anything different!

I can’t deal with my feet being so restricted in the IWOM. I don’t know how you guys saddle hunt in that thing.

Let us know how u like that incinerator when u get it. Even what u think of the “noise” from it

Well I just pulled the trigger and ordered the incinerator set!!! We will see how it goes. Thanks for all the replies!
I have a Sitka code as well that expires tonight at 11:59pm. Right now I have a pair of XL Incinerator bibs in the Sitka shopping cart and just waiting to "pull the trigger". Also have a pair of XL Stratus in EVII for sale.....if anyone is interested.

I received my Sitka incinerator set today and first impressions are:
Very comfortable
The fit seems spot on
Very packable
Everyone wants to talk about the noise but I really don’t think it’s an issue at all, I feel that there is a little more noise than my stratus set but don’t feel uneasy about it at all!
If this set is as warm and waterproof as they advertise I will be most pleased!

Got my new pair of mountain pants in yesterday. Was kinda sad when that was all I could come up with needing clothes wise. How am I supposed to fit in around the support thread buying a pair of pants. Just pitiful.
