My platform makes no noise minus when attaching the ocb buckle/strap....the triplaticops is definetly gonna be noisy
So a dying doe bleat? Saweet!!!
@Weldabeast can you speak to what a soft, flexing platform sounds like against bark?
Wonder if this could be used just to eliminate two steps from your ROS (3 steps instead of 5)? Maybe still setup your ROS however you would to execute a weak side shot? One downside for me would be that I like to skip a ROS to spread my feet out sometimes. I might feel too restricted? I really need to just try it.
Maybe. Could always pull one out and position on a step for a different sit position???Wonder if this could be used just to eliminate two steps from your ROS (3 steps instead of 5)? Maybe still setup your ROS however you would to execute a weak side shot?
I don't remember the marine hose platform being very noisy.
Or conversely, might have value for the guys using a platform that also add a step on either side of the tree... with this rig, maybe you could keep one foot on the platform and have the other foot in a stable position on the opposite side of the tree without the need for additional steps on your platform strap.Wonder if this could be used just to eliminate two steps from your ROS (3 steps instead of 5)? I think the difference between platforms like @Weldabeast and marine hose compared to this is that they have constant contact with the bark but to move with stirrups you have to disengage a foot from the bark and then reengage it against the bark. That's where the potential noise will come from.
Several people tried this back when @justsomedude posted about it and ruled it out but, several of us ruled out climbing with two tethers back then too and many of the people in this thread are making it work. Maybe they can solve the stirrup platform problems too.

Maybe this is more of an auxiliary implementation than a primary platform/ROS?
