So, @Redbeard and I have been throwing this idea around with some motivation from @Weldabeast stirrups and bag platform, for some time now. It grew some legs this weekend and we got one put together to test out. It's actually super comfortable and surprisingly stable (taking into consideration that it's a "floating" platform...kind of)?

Anywho, here's where it's at. Mod 2 looses 2 of the biners and allows the center stabilization strap to be adjusted for tree diameter. Beat it up fellas!

I think the concept of this is great coming from a guy that climbs using the 2TC method. However, I also think it’s biggest downfall would be adjusting to get a shot anywhere other than where you originally set up for. By far the lightest and most compact I would think. Keep up the great work guys.

I played with this about 3 years ago and found it to be a no-go in the end. Maybe you will stumble across something I missed to make it work, but I thought it sucked pretty bad in my experience.

I went in thinking the same thing. Turns out, it handle much like a ROS. just stand up, move your tether around a bit, lean back and gravity pushes you around. Just step off and reposition the feet.

I was just thinking the same thing. It would allow for a strong side shot. Maybe if the foot/tree strap was moved from the heel to the toe. This doesn’t solve everything but an idea.

Isn't this part of a climbing method?

It seems more like a soft ROS, imo.

I liked where you were heading with the og. soft platforms. I thought a skeletonized frame and webbing might have worked.

Anyways, I appreciate you guys and wouldn't rule this out.

Interesting... So u use to climb and as "platform"?

Obviously this is totally different design than what I got but for what it's worth.... If I have to spend any length of time (let's say 10 minutes with kneepads and 5 minutes without kneepads) standing in my stirrup it get uncomfortable to down right painful...I tried to use my stirrup as a "platform" for a quick afternoon hunt and ended up hunting off the ground...
My stirrup is essentially just a spacer to hold my aider off the tree and a double step to step into so I can set the 2nd stirrup with full standing extension. All climbing is done on the aider and with a linesman's belt

I definetly keep an eye to see how it comes together....

How the hell do you get a weak side shot off? Seems you are limited to shots you can take.

Another masterful mspaint creation. By moving the strap connecting the foot "box" via the toes instead of the heels and using a rigging ring, it may be possible to shift your weight allowing for weak side, drop and 180 degree shots.

Wait. Was he climbing with two ropes? What a dumby. That'll never gain traction.

How do you get a weak side shot off with a ROS? Don't you just walk around the ROS to a better point of view/position? Honestly not trying to be snarky, just asking because I've never tried it.
