SRT with only 2 Ropeman's

Hello old thread...wondering did you get the bungee worked out? Started getting gear together to give this a try and considering options. Looks fun a lot of effort involved? Thanks

No, I never really went back to this to get the kinks worked out. the kinks are rather minor, though. Without the bungee you can just use your hand. When the bungee works it is such a smooth ascent. The other kink is that as you get higher and close to your hitch point, the rope is so close to the tree that it can be more difficult to climb.

For now I am preferring to use RADS, mainly because I have all that gear. I also think I want to keep my climbing setup (RADS) separate from hunting setup (tether with Kong Duck). This is in anticipation of the tie in point of the climbing rope being different than the height I want to hunt at.

This is all speculation and yard practice. Haven't tried this in the field!

Thanks much. Makes sense, haven’t even tried yet just getting gear together. Already have rope and ropeman and have hand ascender en route. I am a noob so trying a little of everything to see what works. Did see a vid where a guy had made a sling from nylon that looped around both shoulders then went to his ascender instead of a bungee. Hell, you may see my rig on the classifieds in the future. Does look fun and would enjoy the rappel down.

I like rappelling down after the hunt. It’s fun and safer than anything. Does add more fiddling.

Glad I found this thread. I just got two Duck Kongs to work this out. I was inspired by this video here:
My climbing rope is Samson Predator, and I'll gladly switch over to Oplux, but I rarely used my Predator rope this year and can't justify the cost right now.

I would absolutely recommend you tie yourself to the bottom ascender as a back up.

I also prefer double foot loops to one. Try it both ways!
