Team 13 Thread

I went out this am one sticked up an oak in the pre dawn got there early, Wind was from the south so everything coming back to bed is upwind of me. Just after first light I saw a deer trot back to the ridge, couldn't see a rack. Acorns were dropping intermittently. No action again until 9 am, the same family of does came in out of bow range. Nothing for an hour after and I had a bunch of home projects I had to do the rest of the day.
 
I'm gearing up for the big SOA hunt this weekend. For sure we'll get a doe on the board to go with the 4 pointer, and if we get a little luck on our side we'll upgrade that buck.

Then I can sit on my rear and cheer you guys on for the rest of the season. :)
 
Saturday was my first hunt of the year, first hunt from a saddle and first hunt on public land and didn't see a deer. :mad:

Good work!

I had an 8 stand up off his bed in a big ol swamp last night at 150yds. Got up, did his dog stretches, rubbed a tree and away from me he went.

I hit the grunt, made a sparring sequence with a small set of rattlers and got him to do a 180. Right as he started in towards me a coyote howled DIRECTLY behind me, a long, deep locator howl.

Welp, that buck decided no, no ,no, not today and hooked right down wind of me. Never winded me, but out of my life he went. Jokes on him, now I got his number... (and his easterly wind bedding location)

The game begins.
 
But a nine pointer would put us back in first. I think he’s just screws with me. I was literally a hundred yards away when this popped up on my phone. If I get a chance to go home and grab my bow I’ll give it a shot this evening.

The wind sucks but anything that comes in should give me an opportunity before pegging me. Left my camera arm at home also. I took it out when hunting with my son Saturday. Along with my thermacell. My knee pads are in the truck. But I’m hunting.
 
I'm o'fer in NH with no lack of trying. Headed to NY for the next week where I've had a much higher rate of encounter over the last few years.

I wish I was a headlight on a north-bound train
 
Anyone good with charts and stuff to make one like Team 7 did (I think, or team 9 idk). They made a chart with everyone's user names to show their current points and who has what for their team on the board! Good idea IMO. I know I hold 17 for us right now and hopefully upping to a few more by rut.
