I am out in a tree. No deer yet but the acorns are raining, so we shall see if they show up or not.
You’re definitely doing something right. Keep working hard and it’ll pay off!ah crud sorry to hear that @MNFarmHunter. Hope she is on the mend quickly. Same for you @Mfox2 hope you feel better quickly and your plans come together.
I had a great unsuccessful hunt today, saw tons of deer, had 8 within bow range (25 yeards or less, in this spot realistically 20 because of cover), a few small a few no shot, two decent opportunities, one on a doe, the other a forkhorn buck, both of which i rushed trying to get an awkward angle instead of just feeing and letting them walk 5-10 yards further so got spotted, and at the end of the day saw my first mature "trophy" buck, 8+ point, i didn't see his brow tines or lack thereof but it still have me the shivers lol. he walked within 30 yards of me but was behind thick brush at all times, walked up and scraped a sapling for a minute or so, and then turned around and walked back. i'll be setting up on the other side of that brush next time most likely... all in all it feels like the time i spent not shooting deer last season and scouting in off season is paying off and i think i'm starting to figure this whole thing out a bit. i'm no expert, and dont want to jinx it, but so far so good.
