Team 3 Thread

Ended up seeing something I’ve never seen before. A buck in velvet (messed up rack) but I’ve never seen one before while hunting. Probably should of shot but this place has odd rules and I hesitated and then couldn’t get a shot. Another small buck came down same trail about two minutes later and that was it for the afternoon

Wonder if it was a doe with antlers?

Headed back to France in the morning, gonna miss opening week of rifle here in Arkansas. Hopefully I will get after it next Sunday morning

Well, I connected this morning, taking my 12th deer from the saddle! I got in late, because I had a hard time rolling out of bed this morning. I decided to hunt wv in the am today and went to a spot I have hit hard this year, because I've gotten lazy while I was trying to get the foul up of my hunting life...this is the same tree I shot my buck on opening day out of.... I was just about set up and spooked a ok buck chasing a doe. I thought par the course this season..... I finished setting up and just sat there for a bit enjoying the fact I was hunting again when a doe came crashing through the brush 80 yards to my right. Then I heard a long deep groaning grunt and here he came right after her, she passed me at less than 10 yards and I drew. This made her juke a bit and it stopped him at 13 yards, I got a great double lung and watched him fall inside 30 yards. He's not the biggest deer I could've taken this year but I'm super pumped and real proud of myself for working through my bs and getting back out there!!

I'm unfortunately out of the woods visiting my kid at college. Sacrifices.

Nice looking view you got there! Looks like the top of a TL product (Mission or EDP?).

My newbie AOH brother is out with a HS buddy and he supposedly pulled the trigger this morning. They're still searching. Excited for him...wish I was there. Sacrifices!

That's a LW assassin. I've been thoroughly enjoying it with the sniper sling .

Congrats to your buddies, good luck on the recovery!

Forgot about the old Assassin. Nice looking rubs.

They are tracking it and finally got on some blood. Wish I was there to help...and see him recover his first deer.

I don't know what to do anymore.
Had a doe group come in at 4:45 this afternoon. Big doe in the back, cake shot, 22 yards, broadside, shot looked great. Like 10 ringed great.
She bolted off head to the ground, watched her for 70 yards. Didn't bother tracking her till dark, figured it was a slam dunk. Not one spec of blood to the point that I last saw her. What's yalls speculations on why she's not pouring blood out of a bucket?

Other than the BS with that doe(really killed the mood for me) it was an amazing night. I've never heard so much grunting and doe chasing in my life. Seen 4 bucks total, two shooters.Screenshot_20211113-204130_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20211113-204127_Gallery.jpg

Well, any updates, had you gone back out to look?

125 gr cutthroat single bevel, arrow was fairly slick but not absolutely coated. The fletching really threw me off because I expected them to be just soaked with blood. Shot entered on the line of B4 and C4 at the crease. Brown hair on the fletch, brown hair on the ground at the hit.

I expected her to be dead just beyond where I last saw her as the other two does that were following her after the hit blew and ran back towards me. Found no blood the night of and yesterday morning found two pin drops of blood where I had last seen her. That was it. grid searched all over till almost 2PM yesterday with not one bit of blood, hair, smell of dead deer.

Maybe I need to dump the single bevels for something else. I don't know. Its probably a good thing that the servers were down yesterday on the site, yall would have seen a nice Bowtech carbon Icon for sale.

I'm hoping that whatever karma God I made mad is finally squared up with me.

2 weeks ago, had my track bar snap on my truck. Put me down until I got a new one and swapped it. Luckily, I had it in time to get ready for the rifle opener here in AR. Got the truck loaded up Friday night, and started driving up to hit the hunting area, and boom... ABS light comes on, massive vibration, and my brakes darn near went out. Turns out I lost a wheel bearing. Had to turn around, but was able to limp it home.

What do I wake up to Saturday morning? My phone blowing up from cell cam pics...of my target buck, walking right in front of my stand. Awesome.

Got the wheel bearing, and started working on the truck. Boom- phone goes off again at around 11....same buck again.

Then, to top it off, I couldn't go out Sunday because of some other commitments. And, just to be funny... guess who comes out again Sunday morning.

It's like a sick joke...I wish I was kidding.

......yeah.
