Team 5!

Saw five deer in two hours yesterday morning but nothing in range. Great thing about saddle hunting for first year is moving in after an after hunt scouting mission. First year on this property and found three hot spots for next time. Slowly moving deeper in woods from the field lines. Hopefully a doe soon since it is still earn a buck property.

Thought I was going to get us on the board this morning. Doe walked across the field to a good spot then stopped facing me. She was stuck at 30 yards and never turned. Felt slight wind shift and boom she was gone without a blow or looking my way. Just back the way she came. Stayed 2.5 more hours and climbed down in the rain. Walk out into the field after packing up and a doe to my right about 30 yards but didn’t stick around enough for me to shoot.
Thinking positively, I have seen deer on all three early season sits. Been full draw twice. Could be a good year.

Looking good here in IL as well! My brother, wife, dad and I all drew for a special hunt right along Lake MI for opening week. Pretty excited for the hunt; my brother and I grew up salmon fishing from the marina that we'll be parking at with our Papa, my parents were married at said marina and my wife and I were married about a mile south of the marina on the lake... any of us would be pumped to tag our first buck there. Good luck to everyone getting out, looking forward to the reports on Monday.

i have 2 does down but both were from the ground...oh well

Yesterday i had a doe at 35 and closing at a new spot when my 630pm alarm went off at FULL BLAST! had about 10 more does hangin out for about an hour at 70 yds. jumped 4 more walking in.

still havent seen a buck this season. i have 11 sits already. most are only a couple hrs before and after work. the deer on my go to spot got pushed out by hunters walking through bedding areas. nothing showing up on my cameras anymore so hopefully this new area doesnt get too much pressure. did see pins in some of the trees though.

Shut out on day one. Sitting here in a downpour and just saw my first 2020 season deer from the saddle. Two does and a fawn walked right under me.

Hey, just checking in. I haven't had a chance to be in tree yet as the fishing guide business is booming right now and I have to make hay while the sun shines. I have been running cameras since mid July and have a decent amount of bucks that are showing up pretty regular but only one real shooter. Got several mature deer that haven't amounted to much that will probably I whack if they present the shot though. I may get a day here and there to get after them this month but it is looking like November before I will get serious about them. Good luck to everyone. GET IT DONE TEAM 5!

Northern NY here. Shot a doe last Sunday but it was so warm that I rushed through processing it and forgot to get a picture with the saddle. My bad guys. I'll be back at it this weekend. Weather is looking good.

Hoping to have some points on the board in the near future. Could’ve shot a doe the other night, but I was pretty deep in public and I’ve got other spots that shouldnt be a problem to harvest one on and help manage the herd there too. No shooter bucks in sight yet.. how’s everyone else making out?
