I haven't been out in almost a week, had family duties and now my back is jacked up. I will be hunting one way or another by this weekend!

Well they’re about 50 yards apart and this deer died between them tonight.

But my son killed it, not me, lol

My son did it again. Same spot. This is the buck the the one he killed yesterday was fighting right before he killed it. They died about 6 yards apart.

Git ‘em, Andrew!
I lied fellas. On public this morning and I had two yearling bucks come in to 26 yards. One wasn't legal due to antler restrictions here in Texas. The other was a spike (legal) but I just didn't think I'd be proud of that deer so I couldn't take him. I'll contribute. Just gotta feel good about it.

I just got a video from him, it’s zooming in in on an arrow stuck in the ground. And I got this picture…..

Good call, I wouldn't want someone to shoot anything they weren't excited about

I had my first chance at a doe last Friday. I was in the tree but a real cold sub-freezing wind came in and I wasn't dressed for it, so I got down and sat on a stump.... just at sunset a doe came by at 20 yards and I got excited, drew back and put my 40 pin on the V and shot right over her, just nicking the back strap!
I shoot so much at home from 40, thinking it'll make it easy from all closer shots that muscle memory took over and only after she ran off did I think, "darn I used the wrong pin"!

On a happier note, I have my first buck on camera, and we got our first snow of the season! About 4". With green leaves still on the tree!20221014_080747.jpg20221014_080742.jpg
