Team 8 Thread

Some dipshit was in the area where these bucks were. Clueless guy went in on wrong side for the wind. He has no chance but probably ruined mine for the near term. I just went home and cracked a cold one

Gotta love public land hunting.

No back up spot?

In that area those two bucks were the only thing that I had interest in. I could of left and went to completely different area but I think I was just stuck on my plan that I just had no motivation to put in the effort. Getting lazy in my old age!

Believe me, I can relate. . . :tearsofjoy:

Took off work early and sat this evening. It’s cooled down substantially so I thought that’d be good. Had a fork buck browsing at 10 yards on my weak side for about 20 minutes. His vitals were blocked by brush, and I never even tried to position for a shot. Cool encounter though. First deer I’ve seen in a few weeks!

The contest is the only thing that got me out of bed this morning. 36deg, 15mph gusts and rain. I almost stayed in bed but then thought, hey I'm not going to get any points here. Bottom line, should'a stayed in bed. :tearsofjoy:

I live for weather like that!

No dice?

I actually got chilly in the tree this morning. 39 deg but a real stiff westerly breeze.

I had a spike at 4 yds last night. I think he was trying to avoid the grouse hunters that came in yesterday and setup camp 200yds away then hunted until dark. I hope they're enjoying trying to hunt birds in 30mph gusts today.

Walked out quite a bit this morning but with these winds I suspect the deer are hunkered down. I'm gonna give a different west wind bedding area a try tonight.

Good luck guys!

I'm back on a ridge where I saw 7 bucks on a doe last year but have never seen a deer from tree. No whites dropping either but the scrapes are open already

Goodluck too those out hunting. I’ve been up again for a few hours and already heard two shots CLOSE so deer are moving

Had a good sit tonight. No arrows loosed but I saw 8 including 3nice bucks. They were all inside 25 yds but when the bucks came through it was too dark to pick out a shot through the leaves. Still a good sit in my book.

Saw 4 this morning, which is one more than I’d seen all season this far. I clipped on and was about to draw on a yearling when it decided mom was a little too far away for comfort. She didn’t bust, but scampered out without me drawing. All in all a good morning.
