Tethrd One Climbing Sticks

True and thanks for mentioning that but it is interesting. I like the foot room on the EWO stick and a cam cleat with a sewn webbing aider from EWO with a solo scout. Hard to beat that stick for one sticking.
I doubt I would prefer the Tethrd stick. But I could be wrong and may buy one

Yup..and here we are(no offense @Ontariofarmer or anyone else) being part of the SEO machine, posting their paid for "ads" on influential sites and increasing their relevancy on search engines...im not going to lie, if nothing else, those guys know and have a solid digital marketing strategy.

As usual, tethrd nailed it by what I can see. Best company in the market as far as I’m concerned.

I wander about all the complaints. Do you guys expect a standing platform? Do you smack your steps together on purpose. The thing is, I hunt as weary animals as anyone. And, I’ve never had to worry about my standoffs causing problems climbing. Or my sticks making too much noise when clanking together. Because I don’t smack the together.

Anyways, I read this stuff here all the time and just wander how spoiled we must have become to nit pick the awesome gear we have at our Finger tips the way some of you do.

I liked the look of their sticks until I saw this video. Biggest advantage seems to be for weight savings. But the standoff seems too small, and they don’t appear to stack well

Best company in the market, despite not doing a recall on life support equipment that has a possibly fatal flaw (tether that came unspliced on a member here) or doing a recall on their platforms that seem to have a tendency to crack in one specific spot, potentially sending users slamming into the tree?

How about you putting out the number of tethers they have and see if you can match their results? Same with platforms. I’m betting as good as you are that would be no problem.

I have my opinion. They seem like great guys to me. And, have brought saddle hunting to the masses more so then any other company.

The market is wide open and only going to get bigger. Jump in and show’em how it’s done. If they are as dismal as you’ve suggested, you’ll grab their market share pretty quickly.

FWIW, I use a podium platform. Modified mantis, modified Hawk sticks and aiders, and am working on a two tether climbing system. I will not be buying these steps nor a predator platform. So, I’m not a fanboy that sells out. I just understand everything has trade offs.

Do you think that if black diamond or Kong or wespur had a life support product that failed the way the tether on that other thread they would just replace it or do you think they would issue a recall on at least the manufacturing batch of that product? A tether coming unspliced is unacceptable.

I’m really not going to discuss this any further. It’s pointless. I want everyone to be safe and have the time of their lives. As I’m sure you do too. Take care and God Bless

What is this, a standoff for ants?

How can we be expected to climb if children can’t even fit on the standoff?

I don‘t want to hear your excuses....the standoff has to be at least.....3 times this big!

How is everyone getting these when they haven’t been released on their website?

They do have their fanboys. Wonder why the stand offs aren't larger. Certainly seems to be evident. Stacking?

I wasn’t referring to them having fanboys really. I was trying to point out that they put a lot of thought into this. Yes, the standoffs could have been bigger. Then they’d weigh more. If they weighed more, some would say why buy them at that price since there is no real savings in weight. Etc.....

The list is endless on compromise with ever piece of gear we buy. These are no different. Yet people pick things out and get stuck on it because they have a bias. That’s ok too. It just sounds ridiculous

Anyways, I don’t know why they settled on that design. I personally don’t see the standoffs as small and, as a flaw. I can only assume it was a balance of weight versus pack ability versus function.

They're a copy/refinement of DIY sticks by @Sandor27 . He's the one who deserves the design credit. Tethrd's marketing is super effective. Their products are hit and miss.

They released a known-faulty platform that would break at height when used as-instructed, and refused to recall it. In the meantime their prostaff went out and maliciously suggested competing platforms were insufficiently tested and unsafe. They only just recently released a set of usably-compact ropes, after marketing these absolute behemouths as ultra-compact because they were spliced. Their current flagship saddle's recommended maintenance includes supergluing the bridge loops when they start to separate, and their first flagship saddle was uncomfortable enough to be unusable for many. They continue to advertise foreign-made products as made in the USA.

Most of their products are fine, but not best-in-class. Their marketing is super-effective. They've made a few sketchy moves.

Holy crap it appears that they FINALLY quit doing this within the last couple of months after like 3 years of fraudulent advertising.

There was discussion about this in the recent saddle intro threads, and also years ago with their accessories.

They deliberately put "made in usa" on every page of their website for years while most items they were selling were foreign sourced.

E.g. https://saddlehunter.com/community/index.php?threads/menace-saddle.30872/page-2#post-429995

I have them. Aerial Assault is my channel. You can check out that review there. Light weight for sure! Like unbelievably light. Outside of that I'm not a huge fan. BUT... if the fix the stacking pegs to go together easier that will also be a big plus. Bec once they are together they lock together like no other
I cant find your review of the tethrd stick on youtube?
