Tethrd One Stick Gen 3's - Season review so far

It expired is all. They sent me a label yesterday and I sent them back. I really wanted to like them, but those loose steps are noisy on a tree.
Funny you say that, noisy on a tree. I made a comment 2 years ago saying that is possible. Someone said I did not know what I was talking about. I have had the same experience with tree stand platforms that flexed. I know this vid is on a telephone pole but you can get the same on a frozen oak. Go to the 1 min mark.

I'm gunna try this setup with the stand. These versa hangers worked absolutely flawlessly last year with the beast sticks. I got the adapter for the one sticks so we'll see how it goes. I always set my first stick, then put the second on top of the that one then climb with 2 at my side View attachment 93432View attachment 93433
What waist belt and shoulder straps do you have on your beast stand?

I have about 20 climbs on my set so far this year. Working fine, as they should. My only suggestion, and I realize this may be blasphemous on here, is they could make the steps slightly larger. I would be willing to trade a few ounces for a bit more step. Now, I’m my situation, I’m only going 400-800 to a stand, I’m not walking In three miles, so weight isn’t a huge deal to me. Maybe they could offer the stick with the current version for weight savings, and one with a slightly bigger step, but heavier stick.

I have been following this thread since it began. I bought four Gen3 ones last year. Hung them for the first time this afternoon. I have to say that my first impression is wow. Like others, I really like the weight, the grab, and climbing on them. I didn’t see any negatives….yet. The only thing I have done is stealth strip them. Paired them with a millinium m7 microlight and what a nice light weight setup. Using the M7 now for the first time too and am pretty impressed with the comfort and size. I am hunting on private land, but kinda scared to leave this setup on a tree! Anyway, really digg’n the sticks!

Like they didn’t drill the holes for the steps straight or the actual steps are wiggling on the tube?

I think I am going back to beast sticks myself.
Steps aren't wiggling. Like the holes weren't drilled right. I didn't notice it when I first got them. I haven't yeeted them out of trees yet so idk. I wouldn't have noticed in real use. Something to watch tho

Why the change bud? I’m real curious! I have them and I’m considering go back to different sticks too

Climbed a red maple the other day and when I stepped off onto my platform it came up for some reason and went sideways. Also, with my insulated boots they are a little sketchy. Like I wish they had 1/2” more toe room. I know the beasts aren’t much better but I never felt uneasy climbing them.

I don't own the one sticks. But when it comes to climbing, feeling comfortable on what ever sticks or climbing method you use is #1.

I gotcha, I’ve noticed the little foot room but mainly on my aiders. I just can’t get over the packability of my LWCG compacts. Keeps my load shelf clear. Also I can’t get over the fact people still are having issues with them. You said yourself you’re almost waiting for a hunt where they wobble and piss you off. I just don’t know why people are putting up with this stuff, myself included.

Ive had my gen 3 sticks since release and not an issue. You guys are exhausting on these...one post they are the best next day they are china junk and you sell them...then a week later you buy another set. A wobble , a slight wobble...really ? With a size 12 rubber boot You feel a slight wobble?... has one come.undone yet ..? Has anyone broken a gen 3 or are we just looking for something? these wobble and im going back to beast or whatever...its exhausting

Then don’t open the thread if it’s so exhausting. Not that hard.

I tried using the beasts again earlier this season on a tree I'm familiar with and exceptionally crazy and dumb to climb. I brought them to make sure I didnt have a kick out. It's tough going back.
I'm the biggest cheerleader of beast sticks but they're crazy bulky and heavy in comparison
