Tethrd Predator CFX

I may be a little behind here, due to not having much interest in the platform, but where is everyone getting the weight specs for the platform? I don't see it listed on the tethrd site. Are they selling them without an offical listed weight specification?

I found that confusing as well. It’s odd that the weight is in a thumbnail on the platforms page and not listed on the actual product page.

The specs seem off anyway. @skyjacker posted a video where it‘s measured and weighed. The video is linked in response #138 on page 7. The platform measures 11.5” deep, according to the presenter. @Chrighton, can you check that too?

I think they need to take down their description or make it a very very detailed description.

"at a lower weight than aluminum." this part is easily disproven.

From their website. Believe the video also showed it weighed 3.3. That might be without the attachment method though. Guess I’ll just see whenever it gets here for weight and my own judgement of performance.

IG post came out with it on a scale. Can anyone interpret this?

Do they have some kind of warranty on this thing? I can’t find anything on the website

lol… not this guy. Just curious if they only have a year warranty like the one sticks.

Pretty sure they use the 1 year for all products they sell. That’s all it shows on the webpage and seems to be used as a blanket statement for anything from suspenders to sticks and everything in between.

Interesting… I thought they were touting lifetime warranty on the Predator platforms years ago. 1 year is pretty weak.

You may very well may be correct, with only a couple years in I’m a relative newbie to the saddle game, just what I’ve seen or found for them. Surprised it would be longer some places in all honesty, I just assumed a year was fairly standard for most products.

I can not for the life of me get behind this “cold through the boots” concept. If you have ANY respectable amount of rubber in your boot soles you will literally transfer zero cold from the metal platform to your feet. Zero. Rubber is an insulator, and if your feet are cold on your metal platform they’ll be cold on your carbon fiber platform because your feet are sweating inside your socks and you are making actual ice crystals inside your boots, not because your metal platform is “coldening” anything.
The only reason to be concerned about cold is your hands. And if it’s too cold to take your gloves off so you can touch your metal platform or sticks, it’s probably too cold to be in a tree (for me at least).
I’m not coming at you, @kstetar I’m coming at the marketing idea that this carbon fiber stuff is going to help anyone’s cold feet.
Get some wicking socks, or do like JT sang and cry me a river.
It is called conduction. And yes, it is real.

I can finally give a comparison because I hunted off a aluminum platform for the first time 2 weeks ago. It was a free RZR Magnum I was sent to think about a few months ago and I finally got around to actually hunt with it.....
Man I hate aluminum. Its so tingy, noisy, small and yes much colder to the touch. Now it's below freezing up here so I can tell you there's a real hand feel when handling my regular cf platforms and the aluminum one.
As for heat loss from your feet.....I'm not sure what the difference is yet because I was so focused on the noise differential and I use Bafin Titans with toe warmers that I couldn't honestly tell the difference.
But there is a difference by hand touch and one of you all that bought the CFX should do a heat loss test...

Maybe get 2 ziploc bags of warm water (same temperature)and put them in each side of a pair of boots with something on top like a pair of socks and put 1 boot each on your aluminum platform and your new CFX outside In the cold..... after 15 mins check the temp of the bag of water....wdyt?

We’re all taking this WAY too serious. The real race is who gets theirs first! I got my order receipt email today that lets you know they’ll tell you when it shipped. Just for fun I looked at the time frame from my last order. Receipt was on 8/11, shipped on 8/17, delivered on 8/22. That was for a pair of suspenders, in stock.

I figure this platform should arrive right around the time Santa is trying to fit his fat white butt down the chimney. Ernie Tethrd to the chimney working his way back up the OneSticks while Santa and the reindeer patiently wait their turn on the rooftop only having 3,768,321 more houses to go by the morn.
