Tethrd Predator CFX

For your viewing pleasure ...

Oh my….. no way a deer will hear all that creaking and popping….lol

Of course it's gonna pop and squeak..... It was clean as a whistle still. Soon as it gets dirty noises will stop.

What was he talking about black rack rattling antlers for? I must have missed something
Yes, they claimed on some post somewhere that it would sound more like rattlin’ horns than a treestand or whatever. BSBSBS.

yeah, most of my platforms and tree stands, I bury them for a few months and then never clean them because that will ruin them and make them loud.

@Samcirrus could they change the carbon matrix and get all that screeching to sound more like a buck grunt? Could be useful.
Lol maybe if they put ribbed hollow holes through the length of it! Or maybe the noise gets deeper the older it gets like a real deer?
As for reality....
I'm only going to be providing a benefit of the doubt(for Tethrd) perspective because of my vendor rep status.
This seems to be the first video review showing an in depth "settling" process with all the flex, squaking and noise. There are some interesting discrepancies about this video...
No one is gonna be dancing up there during a hunt but a squeak coming while rotating on a deer won't be good.
I will say that if you've heard the wind rubbing two branches together it can make a similar soundto what this video shows so it may not be the end of the world (staying positive).
Also the guy clearly stated that he disassembled his platform and likely didn't tighten it back down enough, because those noises sound like the connection point rubbing.
Also, the tree hardness can make a difference in noises because the teeth on this platform don't dig and bite, they hold.
Metal teeth on most platforms are wedge shaped while these are flat, thus providing a reed type noise transfer that you don't get from a pointed object.

Because the teeth don't hold in one spot but rather slide up and down this is also hindering it's actual stiffness from being seen The flex is noticeably coming in large part from the teeth moving on the tree.
Without serious modifications, which I can't elaborate on here, this platform looks like it wants and needs (and can be due to its cf strength) to be VERY tight, as in ratchet strap tight, to keep the teeth from sliding.
The previous video shows the guy didn't have it nearly tight enough.

So, NOT chyneema-wrapped-around-a-versa-button tight? NOT I-forget-the-acronym-but-this-is-the-attachment-method-you-need tight?
Add a ratchet strap and we’re going to hit 4 lbs pretty quickly.
Pay a premium to get expensive new gear, then pay more to mod your expensive new gear just so it can work kiiiiinda as it’s advertised? Sounds like a Tethrd product launch to me.

Sorry, I think that Tethrd hit the nail on this one. It is everything they said it was and told us everything it going to do.
How can you possibly complain???
They pretty much put in the writing that this thing is suppose to make all types of noises and scare the crap out of you while on it.
Even said to do it at home so you can change your britches easier.
Almost everyone has just accepted " Gen 1 is just product testing on our dime. Thank you Tethrd may I have another"
Chess gentlemen....I'm telling you..brilliant

Well only from my point of view i think that if you got it tight tight, then the teeth won't ride up and down.
I think all aluminum platforms would do the same and have worse noise resonations if their teeth were flat triangle s like the CFX.

The PSH is actually something anyone can do with any amsteel that has a spliced brummel eye on 1 end( i do think you should buy 1 from the guy who invented that locking feature tho)...and yes it can get crazy tight but only if the platform has pointed teeth to bite into the tree, not flat triangular teeth like the cfx.

I gotta imagine everyone on here has had there platform "creak" at some point because they didn't lock it in tight enough. I know I have had to toe hook again a few times after what I thought was a good set the first time. If your someone batting 1000 on that, congratulations.

I could hardly watch that video with all that creaking and pinging

a lot of that is webbing stretch

if you use amsteel and toe hook....then it doesn't stretch and is way quieter

i can say since i went to amsteel (and usually a trucker's hitch because i'm using a daisy chain) that my platform is pretty much totally silent

I think my Mission might have made noise once in the 4 yrs I've used it....might have.

My point is user error can cause a platform to make a little noise if not secured properly. Getting it right in the dark on a chilly morning is a little more difficult. Or I'm just sub par saddle hunter. Which is very possible. Seems if everything is right with the CFX. There should not be any noise. But maybe the chance of it happening is higher? Less room for error..

Mine still has not made a peep or worked loose. The saddlehntr video was kind of like the last one. I was screaming for him to set it up a bit higher on the tree.
