Tethrd shared photos somewhere of their mould and press. What i mean is that like it or not, there may be lemons due to not every manufacturing technician having the right amount of OCD to make sure each part is perfect....
Those cracks are definitely stress points and will only grow unless they're blended down(by removing material in a circle or oval at a taper).

Ok I had to google forged carbon fiber. Obviously it’s not forging in the traditional sense… just pressure in instead of pressure out, plus heat. But I can’t imagine it’s tempering… so what’s the point of the heat, I assume just to make the binder thin enough to get between all those shredded sheets of CF?

If anyone wants to send me one, I'd be glad to look it over and send it back, or field dress it as you say lol....I just don't want to buy one myself as I have no use for it neither could I nor would I want to copy it.
 
No popcorn is not an option, we already know tethrd puts popcorn in these stands
 
I'm sending mine back. Tried in some trees today that are nothing leaning wise compared to the ones during season and even those I was getting close to out of adjustment. Even after those trees I tried it was still popping like crazy.
I'll wait for gen 2 when they add more adjustment.

The fix will be my stand this year
 
I have to give them that though, in most cases, they stand behind there products... they get replacements out quick, allow returns, etc.
Sorry it didn't work out for you. I haven't had mine out in the woods much more, but I'm committed to using it until the season ends Jan1 in MI.
 
How's this thing handle? How is it as far as a platform? Anything noteworthy? Sounds like if I do some post mud wrestling break dancing on it it'll " settle " but ... is it really different from a similar sized aluminum platform? Highly unlikely I'm getting one but I'm curious and have money just burning a hole in my pocket... I can't afford new pants y'all so I gots tobuy more gears... that or see if unky gunner needs a visit lol

Since you seem to know alot about carbon platforms. Do you thing their may be other carbon platforms out before next season??? Hint, hint, hint!

Just some dude on the internet here, but to me that looks like marks left from a chip breaker endmill. These would need some kind of post processing once they come out of the mold to remove flashing. Just my assumption but it does make some sense.

Makes sense, the Predator is only 10” wide. CFX is about 4-5 inches wider throughout (But about 1/2” shorter). Lb for lb, the CFX is substantially more real estate. I like the shape of the CFX better too.

Just it doesn’t shave weight over (some) similarly sized metal platforms, which disappoints in the weight savings of CF materials category.

If it was proven strong and functionally solid, I’d take it over same sized metal. But that seems a brave venture based on some of whats being reported.

Personally, I’d like to see more platforms measuring 14” deep (or greater).
