Tethrd Skeletor Sticks

Modification question for those that own these sticks:

Would it be possible to lower the top set of folding sticks about 4”? That would allow the steps to be flush with the top of the stick when they are in the folded position, and potentially lower the overall profile for packing/stacking.

(The trade off would be a slightly shorter step to step distance and perhaps different loading characteristics when considering the overall strength profile of the stick: IE - instead of being above the stand-off, your weight would be below the stand-off, which shifts the load from the stand-off to the main post/channel.)

Yes you could do that.

just got mine the other day. Gonna be my go-to sticks when I am not 1-sticking. Looking at them now, seems you could do it, but your toes would potentially bump or be under the standoffs... Unless you plan on drilling another hole for the standoff to move it too

Wonder how important that torque spec requirement is, for the concern of anyone doing aider mods.

Thats the bolt that holds the standoff. Guaranteed that spec line is BS… they don’t want you to use it with loose standoffs probably

I finally emailed Tethrd about mine today. Understand they are busy, but it's been two weeks and still not shipped, and they said they were in stock when I ordered mine in the first few hours. We'll see. Any other early buyers still waiting on theirs??

I finally got my shipment notification yesterday.

Question for the people that have these. I'm assuming if the trees to big you can just add an amsteel daisy chain around the cleat and set the stick that way.

I understand the comments about the giant tree but, if you have ever hunted some places in the Midwest or plains states. You have to realize sometimes there are no trees for a mile and no cover to set up on the ground and you have to use the tree that's available. The issue is swinging that long of a strap or whatever you are using around a giant tree

I've seen some trees that were probably 4' in diameter up to about head level, and then split off to 2 or 3 basketball sized trunks going up, so yeah, I can picture an application for a larger strap.
