I wish they sold just singles I would like one for one sticking just because of the features

Could be a Classifieds market for singles. You could buy a pack and sell three of them, or look into splitting a box with some members.

Woohoo....my Skeletors arrived today. The usual raping by UPS on usurious brokerage and customs fees, but they are here!

Will have to go unpack them in the garage once I get clear of work.

Update: Well that is a disappointment...the DynaLoc button on the outer stick is bent.....plus the box had some pretty good dings in it, so it looks like it was damaged during shipping. UPS strikes again....I intensely dislike UPS because they always do stuff like this, despite charging a ton for getting you a parcel that you already paid a lot for shipping. Ugh.

Time to email Tethrd to get a replacement.

Having never bought anything from Tethrd, the content and timeliness of their response to this issue will determine if I ever buy anything else from them in the future.

I am but it was also like 18 degrees using them I think ya want them tight to start. They are a wear item and after stacking them 10 or 15 times I believe they will be fine. It's not a big deal for me now as season is over so I will practice with them quite a bit and hopefully they wear in. The big reason I bought these stick is the stacking method and the angled steps. I am really liking them and I sure as hell am not a Tethrd Fam boy!!. I like their tether, the predator and these sticks, they can keep everything else except the cleat style versa button, that 8s a winner!!

Is anyone having trouble getting their sticks apart? The StickLoc pins appear to be working too well. I’ve already cut my thumb and smashed my thumb while practicing with them on separate occasions. Maybe it’s user error, but I haven’t found a good way yet to get my sticks apart without clanking metal or pinching/cutting my fingers. Any advice would be appreciated. I’m almost to the point where I want to remove the pins altogether even though it will compromise the stacking method, and they do stack together nicely. Just having a hard time getting them back apart.

I had the same issue. I decided to send mine back. I disliked the pins and had a really difficult getting the sticks apart and back together. Cut myself a couple times. Also, when I opened the package 3 of the pins were broke.
Also, they felt pretty heavy. They weight right at 2 lbs but I think I’d just go with the Hawk 20” instead. Personally I decided to go for a lighter option. Still researching and trying to decide.

pros- like the attachment method and did have a nice compact profile when stacked.

im glad so many people are liking them but I wasn’t that impressed and am going to go a different direction.

Mine arrived today....but one is damaged (see update above).

No trouble taking them apart. But some of the steps seem to be extremely stiff and hard to fold out. Is this something that will wear in or maybe needs an adjustment of the bolt/nut for the tight steps?

I had to loosen mine. I could hardly move them by hand

Any good advice for first time users on the skeletors? Tricks or things to expect?

Did my first full climb with them today. I’d say:

- Pull out the bottom of the stick and set it. These things bite hard.

- Gloves are a must imo. These things have a lot of sharp edges.

- I was on a bigger tree, I put the rope on the end of the stick and used the stick to hand it to my other hand. You can’t just sling the rope around a bigger tree. It’s light weight, but this method worked well.

So overall, you like em pretty well ...

I do indeed. The only frustration is getting em restacked. Yet, they are rock solid when together. As a matter of fact I kept two together hanging off my saddle while I climbed and seperated them when I needed them, no issues.

I'm not having any issues either taking them apart or restacking them. I use the fingers on top stick and thumbs pushing on bottom of bottom stick to pop them apart. To put them back together, I line up the bottom organ pegs and get them just started with the top of the stick angled away from the other stick, then align the top pegs and push 'em together.

Mind you, that is at near room temps in my garage. Might not work as well at -10C out in the woods.

As for the steps hard swivel, they were almost impossible to move when they arrived. I adjusted the tension on the nut with a 7/16" wrench/socket and now that open a lot easier.

Got the sticks!. So far I'm liking them pretty well and i'm a die hard lone wolf stick guy. Like everything but just have to figure out a aider.

Get some shrink wrap and fold rope on end, I did a tri- fold. About 2"s long so lost 4"s on length. Shrink wrapped it. Works pretty well to give it some weight to throw around tree
