Tethrd Skeletor Sticks

Is the correct way to set any stick to grab from bottom and pull down? I always just pull down a bit on the top set. I use stock strap on TL doubles if that makes a difference.

Maybe I’m the oddball, but I hope the directions on how to set them is clear when you open the box. People still have to provide online guidance on how to toe hook their platform.

You never watched Dan Infalts instructional video on setting a stick?

I ordered a set today. I hunt private land 100% on 5600 acres with a group of hunters that we lease together. I am the only saddle hunter (right now). I have several sets of hawk full size heliums and an EWO one stick.
I plan on using these for hunting new spots when not one sticking. I use my hawks for making presets on club spots that are set up for archery. It really confuses some members when they see a set of stick in a tree but no stand on top lol.

I have several people wanting to switch over to full time archery now that they have seen how I can set up anywhere with minimum effort.

I like all of my climbing methods and believe each has their own strengths and weaknesses. I like adding capabilities to my set up and think these will help with certain areas that would be a pain to one stick

I ordered mine the first couple hours they were live on the website and well prior to the backorder notification. Still haven't received a shipping notification, but hopefully they will honor what they were saying on the website about the first 1000 orders being in stock and shipping soon. Got these as a hopeful upgrade to the Muddy Pros which I really like, but find somewhat heavy. My Muddys actually weigh out at 3.1 lbs each, so shaving off a full pound per stick will be nice. Might even start using all 4 sticks instead of only 3 and an aider.

And as someone else had mentioned, I was surprised at the "Skeletor" name since I too figured it would be a copyright/trademark issue because of the show way back when. But who knows.... I guess they did their homework and probably have some form of legal counsel. Maybe... :tonguewink:

People that have already received them: Will the stock surface finish on them take paint well? Hard to tell, but the finish looks a little smooth and shiny in some of the pics, especially on the center extrusion. Just curious if I'll have to spend lots of time sanding...sure hope not!

I listened to the chasing tails podcast today and they had Ernie on. He said the stock paint was made so that you could sponge dip or DIY paint right over top of it.

As long as it ain’t shiny. Why bother painting them?

I like to camouflage things as much as possible to make them less noticeable to both deer and humans. That goes for all things, be it ladder stands, ground blinds, climbing sticks, hang on stands, etc. I've found that little bit of extra effort to be quite effective for my hunting in my region, but could certainly see how it may not be as necessary for other people's circumstances.

And you gotta admit, these Muddy Pros look way better in camo than they do in the stock black.

Got mine today. So far I'm digging them. I have yet to find a set that compares to my home made set. These are close. Since I use only 3 sticks with aiders...I plan sacrifice 1 of them and do a modification.
For the money and quality I'm seeing...they will sell the crap out of these assuming they hold up long term.

VERY interested
Does anyone know if attaching a cable aider to the bottom of the stick is possible?
I would want to attach a 20" cable aider to at least my first two bottom sticks .
I may do cable aiders by acquiring a longer bolt and put cable eyelets on the tree side of the stick not interfering with the rope containment knob... kind of between and below the standoff. No new holes necessary in my opinion. Stay tuned.

I have some of those sticks. Yours look much better. Nice job.

How’s the foot room compare to the one sticks?

Tethrd probably has one or two poor interns grappling with shipping out the 1000 stick orders that were placed in half a day when they were released, in additon to all of their usual shipments. :tearsofjoy:

Guess I just need to be patient for mine.
