Tethrd Skeletor Sticks

Tethrd probably has one or two poor interns grappling with shipping out the 1000 stick orders that were placed in half a day when they were released, in additon to all of their usual shipments. :tearsofjoy:

Guess I just need to be patient for mine.

I’m with you. I emailed today to see if I made the 1000. No response as of yet. They have been doing a great job responding to my emails though.

I received mine today and tinkered with them all afternoon on several different trees. I am very satisfied with my purchase. I wouldn’t mind if the steps were a little longer but other than that I really like them. They are rock solid in every tree I tried them on. I really like the dynalock tab also. Seems they upgraded the rope from the ONE sticks. The stacking pins are also improved and held in by a simple screw. When I am not one sticking I will be using these.

Same here. Warning: requiring a specific stick setting procedure to avoid bending may result in online complaints. Seems there is a balance of stand-off bite and ease of use when setting any stick.

I’m also surprised he’s not seen many sticks stay on the tree with no attachment. Maybe PA doesn’t have many of those trees.

24” stowed and 2+lbs? Pass.

Ordered two sets (one for a buddy) and only got one today.

Very impressed for 5-10kin of play time.

To say they’re hawks or leverage sticks isn’t fair. Love the cord wrap spot, dyna lock, locking pins and angled foot rings. Honestly I think they’ll pack nice on a stand such as an lwcg and seemed to fit all too well on my 1.0 (.5 wasn’t here). Craftsmanship is pretty good and like the camo. Like the one sticks- I they’re not the best on hard smooth bark like beech and some maples- the offsets aren’t killer sharp. They also have that odd metal sound when contacting such bark.

Think with some sound tape they’ll be awesome. Not sure on adding aiders.

I just got an email that mine shipped and will be here Friday. I'll let you know how they look. Will be a week or so before I can use them in the woods.

Fixed it for you! LOL.

You don't know that. He might be the hoarder that has everything. 12 saddles, 8 different climbing sticks, and every ROS option kinda guy. (Hunts with the same setup every year)

I found the interesting tidbit was that he was able to bend one of the standoffs. He's a tall guy but not as heavy as some guys probably using the sticks. He attributes it to there being some slack in the rope.

I bent a hawk helium lower standoff and bolt this way on my 1-stick setup this archery season. I’m close to 300# and didn’t set the stick well so when I placed my weight on the stick it was the lower standoff gripping the tree and holding my weight instead of the rope. Replaced the bolt with a higher grade and straightened out the standoff and am typing this while perched in the air on that very stick during my morning hunt.

I ordered some of these skeletors so I’ll see how one holds up to me, but will make certain the ropes are tight before throwing my weight on them.

The standoff on these is thicker/wider than the helium. I think they will do a better job of distributing load off that bolt.

I get it, I just haven't gotten to the point where I have one of everything yet! I did get to the point where I was searching "new posts" and came across a classified I wanted, only to remember I have to upgrade my subscription for that.

You don’t need to be a member to buy something. You can PM the seller and purchase the goods just like anyone else. Membership allows you to post a classifieds ad or post in vendor access area.

Or you can just PM the seller.

Little chincy to charge the $15, but I'm sure I'll be making the donation here soon. To support the community if nothing else.

Server space ain’t free bud. I will gladly pay the $15 to keep the site up and running.

Never said it was. I pay for other forums. No problems with it. Just never seen one that required it for members to only reply to classifieds...only seen it to post their own items for sale. Limits the sales potential whether people realize that or not...as Counting Buck just illustrated. Just an odd choice

I thought you could reply to the classified via pm? I’ve had several non paying members successfully buy that way.

I believe it's limitation of the forum software. But like others have said there is no restrictions on purchasing from the classifieds.

For those interested in cable aider. I put in a longer socket head cap screw and installed on standoff side of the stick. See pics. This is a short cable aider, but slick way to contain it without needing anything additional.

Lots of options with these.

Nothing fancy needed or had to be done, but thought I'd share.

What size is the aider and does it interfere with stacking the sticks?

Shown is a 16in long set from EWO. It does interfere with how they nest in the pins, but I think I'm only running with one aider per set and that can be my top stick on the stack... I'll post a pic of that.
If you run multiple aiders may want to try another way.
I may come up with a better way. The knob has some shape to it so it sets in the bend of the tube.

What about amsteel aiders off the steps? Stash them in pouch and put them on as you climb? Take down as you climb down. Shouldn’t take up much room and way less bulky than a conventional 3-4 CAYG webbing aider
