I knew there had to be a logical explanation for being childless
The logical explanation for being childless is he ran the numbers and it doesn't pay out. The cost for daycare and all the extras is exorbitant. Luckily as humans we tend to let our feelings make our choices otherwise we have a rapidly declining population

I'm saying that if you look at your personal financial stability, with no regard for the continuity of the species or your families bloodline, having kids in the United States is a poor choice; one that I've made twice and would consider doing again,lol. But that's an emotional decision not rational. Rationally speaking, no more for me and the Mrs.

We human take a certain pride out of not following natural law/reasoning/process/thinking. We didn't adapt to this world, we adapted it to our needs. Logically based on the numbers, once you are retired, you are just a burdened to society. Retirement is a modern concept. I'm just trying to survive by investing in kids so it improve my chances that at least one of them will take care of me later on.

My lesbian self had that car less than 6 hours and was giving a deer a ride in the back. Less than 36 and the 2nd took a ride.

Preach! I'm a man with simple taste. I'll settle for the Carolinas near a nursing school that has ton of college nursing students needing intern hours at the homes. Sponge bath every day baby! Do nurses still wear candy stripe uniforms?
Those aren't nurses, those are volunteers picking up hours to make it easier to get into nursing school

I don't have kids, by choice. I don't really care for children and have never regretted it. There are also a lot of people who would like to have children, but recognize that they can't provide the type of life for them that they want because of financial constraints which I think is very thoughtful.
I've always found it humorous that I often get called selfish and in the next breath the same person will ask who is going to take care of you when you're old. I always tell them the private nurses I will be able to hire with all the money I saved not paying for daycare.

Also get called selfish about it, which doesn't make sense to me... by not having kids that I don't want I am selfish?
My amateur psychological assessment is that it's projection. People are trying to justify their life choices to themselves and need to paint people who made other choices with an unflattering brush so it seems less appealing.
