Crying shame that I basically only hang around here anymore to be amused by yall. I'm about to vigorously type "accessory thwart" into another browser.I added an accessory thwart behind my seat with rod holders.

I don't have a picture of it but it's an offcut 1x4 - I think cedar - with some holes drilled for 'rocket launcher' rod holders, and an Attwood adjustable rod holder by my right elbow. I can troll with it, without bumping my reel with my elbow - I use a kayak paddle.Crying shame that I basically only hang around here anymore to be amused by yall. Rocket launcher??? Yep... I knew it had a hidden hunting application.I don't have a picture of it but it's an offcut 1x4 - I think cedar - with some holes drilled for 'rocket launcher' rod holders, and an Attwood adjustable rod holder by my right elbow. 'thwart' is a funny word, but this has proven to be a pretty efficient system for me.
Well I really like your choice of words! Nothing hunting related to post but give me about 30.01 days and I'm sure that'll changeCrying shame that I basically only hang around here anymore to be amused by yall. I'm about to vigorously type "accessory thwart" into another browser.
Back in my XX75 days that was routine for me. Shoot all summer and right before season, re-fletch anything that was looking worn or ratty, wash and car wax the shafts. Life is too short to shoot ratty azzed ugly arrowsI literally just re-fletched all the arrows that I was using all summer....3 days before opening day. Same configurations but they were all shoot up, dirty, vanes cracking, and my OCD got to me. Wanted to start the season with fresh arrows. I know its all in my head, dirty arrows will fly straight, but its a mindset.
And this is not the first time I done something at spur of the moment right before season. Literally had my whole opening day gear setup for months. But ditching everything for a bino harness with bare minimum.
Wife made fun of me as she watch me go back and forth over my setup constantly, but then I fire back that she stress over things too and packed my son's backpack with tons of stuff for first day of school, but realistically he doesn't use most of it! But then l realized that my argument put me on the same mental level as a 3rd grader........
Tell me more about this wash and car wax business... Dish soap and water? Turtle wax? Simoniz? What's the benefit, basic maintenance? Less friction passing through game?Back in my XX75 days that was routine for me. Dawn dish soap and warm water in the kitchen sink, dry well and yes, turtle wax. Back then I was shooting off a TM hunter rest wrapped with mole skin. The thought was the waxed shafts would slide more freely and more quiet on the rest.Tell me more about this wash and car wax business... Dish soap and water? Turtle wax? Simoniz? Coincidentally, yesterday I listened to an Ohio Outdoors podcast interview with Dr. Ashby, and he mentioned lubricating his arrows, with oil or wax and whatnot. Apparently it was more common with wood and aluminum arrows shot off the shelf back when he was a budding archer. He also mentioned that some people use vaseline and chapstick to prevent their broadheads from corroding, but claimed that both vaseline and chapstick are coagulants that will encourage blood clotting, and claimed to have identified other metal protectants that discourage coagulation, but didn't name them.Dawn dish soap and warm water in the kitchen sink, dry well and yes, turtle wax. What is your suggestion on keeping them from rusting?A note to guys coating their broadheads with oil/wax while in the field: try this experiment. Sharpen your heads to scary shaving sharp. Now, coat them with oil or wax and try to shave hair off your arm--bet you can't.
Which steps were they?I've lost my R.O.S. ?? I keep all my gear together but it's not here. I even looked back on Pay Pal thinking I sold em. Nope. If anyone finds a nice set laying in the woods.....
