Truck build

Peeps seem to hate on that 5.4 and the early generation maybe deserves it a little bit but the later models are beast....we had a tenant in our building at work who delivered coffee/water/snacks/uniforms and they had 2 big huge box trucks with that modular v8 and they were overloaded every day of their life and they drive full throttle and both of them had over 500k....

It was an 87 Ranger I bought new.
The 2.3 or the 3.0? (4cylinder or 6?) I hated my old ranger with that 2.3 engine, never had issues like you did but it wasn’t my favorite engine lol it was like an over bored 2.0 and had like 90 hp

They had 2.0, 2.3, and 2.9 options that year....id bet it wasn't the 2.3.....u have 8 sparkplug wires?
I dont remember I just know I was really excited that it finally seemed fixed and then the bear. When it got out of the shop that time I literally drove it straight to the dealer and traded it in.

He left. It happened on a built up road going through a refuge, Sides of the road were grown up in johnson grass. We went back up the road and found where the bear went down the side of the road after impact, no bear at the bottom.

About to go jump in my Tacoma, but enjoying this thread for multiple reasons.
We’re talking about trucks man….
True story, I have owned exactly one ford truck. In 42k miles I had to replace a piston, 3 cam shafts and some other engine stuff I dont remember. Leaving the lake pulling the boat one evening, shifted into 5th and when I let go of the shifter it fell over in the passenger side floorboard. About 3 months after finally getting it where it would stay running, a 300-350# black bear tried to run across the road in front of me about 4am. Hit him flush doing between 55-60. Kilt the truck, we never did find the bear. Havent since and dont plan to ever again own a freakin ford.
I have ~230k on my 2012 3.5 eco. I plan to easily get another 100k or more out of it.
