What bothered u on your last saddle sit

A couple different 3D print company's make them...I have the hooks from Genesis....they go on your tether to move it up, so you don't have to put your fingers in between the rope and the tree....in my opinion it makes moving the tether up so much easier.

Interesting. I could probably throw something together in tinkercad for my 3d printer. I have a hunt tomorrow so too late to order.

I wonder if some s biners or carabiners would also work.

Figuring out how to pack out more efficiently. Getting everything gathered up and in place to leave the woods after a hunt is still slower than I'd like.

View attachment 92613i use them as gear hangers too....less stuff

Yeah this should help. The main issue I've experienced with moving my tether is the weight of my madrock pulling it down as soon as I loosen my ohm locker. Can be a bit unnerving when I'm at height trying to adjust my tether height to something comfortable.

Shove it all in and deal with it at home!

Going out to hunt I have everything packed in the order I like. Once I'm at the bottom of the tree and ready to head home, I just put in my pack and then reorganize and repack at my truck or at home.

Unless everything needs to be dried out, I'm the opposite haha! I'd rather pack stuff up as it needs to go away, that way I don't forget anything, and I don't have "extra" stuff to do once I'm home.

Or take less stuff. Just take less stuff

On topic. My pull up/ down rope is a constant thorn in my side. Everything else is pretty smooth

Yup. That's pretty much what I do. It just takes longer than I would like...

I don't know about u guys but it seems every sit I notice something that can be improved on. It's usually little things like the process or order of how I but things away or moving a pouch over a little so I can reach into it easier etc......maybe if u are having some bumps in the road to dialing in ur system some other folks on here who already gone thru it can help.

My last hunt I noticed my water bladder can make a loud crinkle if I'm not careful and it's about half full......stealth stripped the heck outta it and that solved that.....I also accidentally made a noise hitting my release on the rangefinder so stealth stripped them.

When I first started saddle hunting I'd write a list of all the things that bothered me or worked against me and slowly over couple seasons whittle the list down to nothing/almost nothing.....

My current bother is I still searching for the best way to carry and deploy my aider.
If you skip to 1:43 there's a pretty simple solution

The sharp edge of the tethrd one stick dynalock cleat thingie started eating my amsteel.

Hey, Tethrd, are you unaware of the concept of chamfering? You're already saving money by having these made in China. Send me the address and I'll mail their factory $50 worth of sandpaper.

What do u mean? What is the issue?
I can't find a spot I like to keep it, or actually find a rope/cordage that I like. I've got some braided reflective cheap stuff that works ok and doesn't tangle up terribly. Just the one thing I'm always thinking needs improvement

That zing it stuff is super compact but geez, auto tangle lol

That looks pretty cool but I don't use sticks and my aider is carried up with me while I climb......

I want a horizontal semi ridged pouch like a cross draw holster so I can quick draw McGraw aider in and out. It would be over my ribs attached to my vest

I've settled on 5mm accessory cord from Wesspur. It's not the most compact, but no stretch, breaking strength would be great in an emergency, no tangles, and I can hang a deer with it lol.

For pulling up a doyel or equivalent is pretty hard to beat. That's how I pull up my bow after years of the figure 8 550cord. I use a separate pull down rope that is 1/2 mule tape....I don't know it's the best choice but it's no stretch and the soft flat material easier on ur hands and most important it was free....hehehe
I've stored it in multiple places...currently I have a small horizontal zippered pouch that attached to my vest about where u would liver punch someone...prior to that I kept it attached to the tether, figure 8ed and gear tied to the quick link...I don't think there's a wrong way to store it but it should be somewhere u look often or in plain sight so I don't accidentally forget to hook it up

I've thought about using accessory cord. The 6 or 7mm EWO sells is pretty nice stuff. 6 I think, the camo one

I started with 7 and 6mm, but settled on 5 as a compromise lol. 4mm gets a little more "tangly" and bites into your hands when hauling a deer or as a pull-down line... I think I actually have a 100' of new 4mm in red, if I already didn't sell it.

Still havent found a good way to shoot a rifle out of a saddle. I need a rest. I use an extending bow hanger for a rest but it only works in one direction and im all wonky positioned most of the time. once im lined up my body is getting tired of holding a yoga pose to shoot steady. My climber has a rail and it just works.
just ordered a longer bow hanger and i might add two together.

Also, my collection of junk to make my hunt comfortable weighs almost as much as the dang climber by now. but i am pretty darn comfy most hunts. i started packing my saddle on my pack instead of wearing it on long walks because it is killin my hips after a mile or so, or if im biking the straps worry me getting looped in a wheel. got some suspenders to see if that makes it any better while on foot.
