What did you do today that’s related to saddle hunting?

In keeping with my tradition of changing everything right before a hunt, I received my Bullman Apex steps today.

4 steps with ratchet strap weights 1.3# compared to 3.3# for the predator with amsteel daisy. Playing around on a tree, they seem as comfortable as the platform when leaning. Moving around the tree, the steps seem easier as I'm more or less remaining centered with my legs below me as opposed to pushing off with the platform.

Naturally, they're not as stable as a platform and will miss being able to freely stand on the platform and work without hanging from the tether but will put them through their paces this weekend.
For ultimate comfort, I have 2 steps on my platform strap. I put one on each side and love it…….not a minimalist though. The OCB has been great too!

I made and shot another set of arrows to make sure I have enough for the Kentucky/ Ohio trip. Can’t believe it is less than 2 weeks away!

I finished up the soft shackle I started yesterday. I had some trouble with the diamond knot, but found a great YouTube video that made it easy!

I'm planning on using the soft shackle with my foot loop and hand ascender to make my setup more compact.

Edit: Here's the video

Yesturday I added the paracord around the edge of my EDP and put camo vet tape on the tubed portion. Today I gave it a rattle can camo. (probably should have done that in opposite order but oh well). After I painted I started on adding the amsteel guys retractable aiders for the skeletors. Got hung up a little so went to dinner and emailed him for help. He got me back on track and I finished it up shortly after. Great customer service from the amsteel guy. Highly reccomend. Screenshot_20221020-235839_Gallery.jpg

Just finished sewing a 3-step aider. Turned out better than I expected.

Finishing up some summer sausage. ( i know, I needed to use the last of it up and hardly any one I know likes straight venison anyway) Cold front inbound, back to the woods tomorrow!

Swapped predator lineman belt for latitude 10mm ultralight so I can still use ropeman. - good move

swapped Predator tether to latitude Vapor and quickly swapped back. Need to work with the Vapor a bit more to get comfortable with it.

swapped stock strap/buckle on Edge platform to Amsteel daisy change - positive upgrade
