What did you do today that’s related to saddle hunting?

Went out and scouted a section of public land that I haven't before. Was a bit of a bust for deer, but I'll be back to shoot doves and scout for turkey too!

Got a Ropeman 1 for the lineman’s belt on my JX3 and put that on. Should have got one of these a long time ago for climbing.

Edit: Also shot my bow a bit. Trying to practice further out to make them close shots easy. My single pin is set at 25 yards. So I’m trying to see what my holdover is like out to 40. 20-30 is pretty marginal as far as arrow drop.

Shot the longbow some this morning at 12 yards. Just look at the spot, draw slowly, come to anchor and release. I'm pretty happy about these. Now if I can just hold it all together with a deer.
You're better at that than I am with a sight and release! Hopefully that means your wrist is doing well!

Got my Ropeman today as well and just gave it a quick test run. Should’ve let myself get talked into that from the beginning, way easier.

Thanks, I have my good days and bad. I find if I just take a few shots, I do good and if I practice too long my form falls apart. Yes, my wrist is almost 100% healed now. It is just a little twingy at times. Thanks for asking.

Glad I'm not the only one that smokes my clothes. It's works great for the wma's that have a burning fetish! Also only thing that really covers the sweat smell early season in Florida..imo

Put a flat monarch on one of my sticks. Think I’m going to like this when rappelling isn’t great due to terrain thickness. Don’t like climbing down sticks but in some of these spots it’s the only way that’s relatively quiet

Took the wife for a walk in an area I've never walked through before. We stayed in the pretty open stuff and checked out a couple of water holes for early season. The spot showed some promise so I think I'll have to plan on a scout my way in/sit or two this fall. The wife was less than happy with the bear sign we were seeing in there though. :tearsofjoy:
