What did you do today?

Shot my bow for the first time since deer season. Worked on getting my new to me sight dialed in at 20. Next to finally try my Silverback release my wife got me for Christmas.

Helped the kids make a clubhouse in the woods.

I hate to say but this pandemic kind of reminds me of when we were kids playing outside.
There are more and more people playing catch and frisbee, sitting in front of the house, walking dogs and bike riding.
Like life once was.
When this is over it will be back to the usual things.
I have been an outdoor cat all my life.
When I can't go out I feel like dog , just looking out the window and letting out a little wimper.

It's a beautiful day here and sunny.
I'm on for 10 more nights and not sleeping well.
Shooting arrows in the yard keeps me sane.
It's hard to just work sleep work sleep. Wears you down.
20 minutes target practice is a placebo making me feel as though I had a good day in the field. Day light is what I love for.

Hacking and squirting...
Privet, honeysuckle, bittersweet, barberry and grapevines.
My property is a disaster area of invasive plants.
I think most of the stuff came from China.
It seems to be a theme lately.

Nice selection you have there. I fought multiflora rose and barberry and bittersweet in my old overgrown orchard. My sheep keep it down now, they like rough forage, like goats but without the need to escape.

I have lots of MFR, too. But I tolerate it.
My deer love it. Our MFR has the blight so a lot of it is sick or dead, but there is lots doing well, too.

I spent a few hours cleaning them up and getting the boats running. Not that it matters, we're officially under a boating ban here in Michigan right now. My plan was to sell the smaller boat this spring and buy a peddle fishing kayak. That plan has pretty much gone by the wayside too. Maybe I'll just have to break down and buy the kayak anyway. . . what's one more boat in the yard? :D

I agree. I had no idea there were so many dogs in our little town. Suddenly everyone is out walking their dogs. The dogs must be loving pandemics! We've lived in our house on the end of a dead end street for over twenty years and the only walkers we usually see are the immediate neighbors occasionally strolling by. Suddenly I feel like I'm living next door to the local dog park.
I hope this lockdown has an unintended affect on our society and people rediscover the enjoyment of a simple walk outdoors without the need for a "destination".

You can still use the kayak, as long as it doesn't have a motor.

I spent Wednesday burning through 5 tanks of gas on the chainsaw... cut down 3/4 of an acre of eastern junipers. Another 8-10 hours of cutting and the property will be where I want it! The wildflowers are starting to pop as well.

Turkey Hunting Opening Day. Had 2 hens walking by, 2 deer, a fox squirrel, 3 blue herons, 2 crows, ducks and geese, all in about 10 - 15 ft of my blind. No tom though, but it was an awesome clear cold morning with fog over the lake that lifted around 8 to reveal the beauty of the land on a fine NC morning.

I think there are more people than ever on the rivers here.

Might want to make a call about the details of the boating ban. All recreational boating is banned in MD but, I personally know multiple people who have confirmed with our local DNR that fishing for food is still allowed.
