I think the rule of thumb is 1-1.5 hours per pound. Some people cook hot and fast at like 300. Supposedly still turns out fine. I'd open the vents more if you want it done for dinner.

I cook at 275. Wrap when it hits 160ish. I pull. So I take it off at 195. Let set for an hour.

Once you wrap you can toss in the oven and speed it up

I realize it’s now almost 10pm. So I’m guessing a pizza was ordered or it got ate at whatever temp it was around dinner

Since I lost 60 lbs on keto. I rarely eat full meals to limit calories. I don't want to fight that battle all over again. I just had some garlic ring bologna and cheese for dinner. The pork is rubbery and gelatinized today and I will cut it around 11AM for brunch. I usually just have coffee with heavy whipping cream for breakfast and lunch is my first meal of the day. The dog keeps bugging that the pork is done. :D

Cut the pork butt. My eyes nearly rolled back in my head when I ate some. The dog says it is a resounding success. Rubbery and can be pulled apart. I rested it for 2 hours as @Blinginpse suggested so it was still juicy. Time to cut more now. Happy 4th of July. Viva la Constitution.

Cute pup, lady who i rent 84 acres has 1 like it. Such a sweet dog. Have taken care of her many times while that family was gone on vacation. Food definitely looks spot-on too good job sir

Went out to our new lease to toss up a couple cameras. Down a “road” the guys carved up yesterday we found tons of tracks from last night. At least 3 deer wandering all over that area. See what the camera gets tonight there. Right in the middle of a planted pine area and a a swampy area. Should be a good site. Picked out 2 trees in 4 different spots for presetting.

Now cooking beef ribs (guy that bought them didn’t know he bought beef. Ha. But they’ll be great. Told him to think of burnt end lollipops.

Got 24 yardbird thighs and 15 ears of street corn ready for the grill.

Busy day.

I’ve been there during the rut the last two years. Saw a tiny little spike last year and that was it over 5 days and multiple stand locations. The area is a giant bowl and it’s extremely difficult to get the wind over them. The year before I saw a few but only got one shot and that was over about ten sits. I just need a change of scenery.

Went to the archery shop and picked up the Bear Kuma 30 I bought over the phone over 2 weeks ago. Got it all setup and put a couple arrows through her. Now waiting for some time off work so I can get it dialed in and practice more. Excited to get my first practice shots out of my saddle! Already noticing a huge difference in upgrade from the Parker Buckhunter I came from.

Where the skys are so blue!
Made me some j hooks to hold my LWCG mini sticks to my ambush. Heck with spending $15 plus shipping...$6 at the hardware store and I'm done. They lock the sticks to the stand tighter than you can imagine. Screenshot_20200704-191155_Gallery.jpg

I'm gonna be spending a lot of time on this setup next year, methinks. Set both sticks while standing onnthe ground, shimmy up, set the platform, tie in. Quick, simple, safe, and easy.

Also ordered a CZ 512 in .22 wmr, a vortex copperhead 3-9x40, some one-piece ring/bases, a spare mag, and 200 rounds of 40 grain fmj. I think that's gonna be a WMA pig and squirrel pounder.

I took my wife's cars vent system apart, there was a terrible smell in there. I am not much of a mechanic, but I worked my way into the system from both ends. Finally located the old mouse nest down behind the glove compartment. They chewed up some filters and made a nice bed in there. Barf.
I have to see if I can get a replacement filter and put it back together.
This week is supposed to get pretty hot here in NY,not looking forward to that. I think I am ready for fall already too.
