What do you want to know about the Tactisaddle?

I guess my thread or review wasn’t good enough? Or the videos that were put out already? Why am I getting the sense that if a product hasn’t been reviewed by a saddle hunter “Frat Boy” it doesn’t mean squat and why Nutterbuster are you starting a new thread on the same saddle the day after I posted a review? What are you trying to gain here?

" So I figured I was good to go into this hunting season until I saw the video that got severely bashed on this site about the tactisaddle. Frankly I was disappointed to see this reaction especially from people who claimed to of never watched the whole video or even tried it out. So let me clear the air but first say I do not know John Tucker only spoke to him once on the phone and I am not doing this on anyone’s behalf except those thinking of getting one. This will defiantly be the saddle I will be hunting out of from now on and will buy another in the future for a back up. As he states in his video there is NO binding NO discomfort and most importantly it stays in its place and doesn’t ride up an inch. I don’t know what else to say other than in my opinion he has done it for me and light weight saddle hunting. I can wear the legs straps and walk freely to and up my tree and then adjust the bottom strap under my butt and sit comfortably with only a 14” bridge. It is WELL made with heavy duty stitching and webbing. I feel very confident wearing this because of how professionally made it looks."

Your words above. In your post, you complained about the bashing of the completely ridiculous video posted by someone who clearly knows nothing about saddles. John made a big mistake having that guy plug his gear. It doesn't do the saddle, or him, justice. That was 90% of the "bashing". The other goons who said it won't work and don't have a clue, well, they're always going to do that. It's the internet. It's probably best to get used to that. Then you gave a general description of the use of a saddle. You made clear after your vague description that its just your opinion. You didn't really offer much information to someone past that.

I requested further information, and you didn't respond with any sort of useful information on the saddle. You still haven't.

Nutter reached out to John, spoke with him, expressed his opinions, and offered to give the saddle a fair review and share it with the world. He left the ball in Mr. John's court, and John accepted. Frankly, it's got nothing to do with you.

Instead of posting "the saddle is comfortable, this is my opinion, i'm disappointed in people bashing a hack sales job" You had every right to give us your hunting style, height, weight, gear you use to climb and type of platform, the advantages of the saddle, the cons of the saddle, what you think should change or improve, what you think sets it apart. You could have posted with pictures, or even better a video. You didn't. By your choice. Nutter has reached out to the owner of the company, and was given the opportunity to do all these things.

So what does he stand to gain? I suspect its the respect of his peers, a chance to try out a new piece of gear and share it with us, and to ruffle your feathers apparently.

Lets all relax, It's the internet. No frat here. Just people who care way too much about camo diapers. We're on your team.

I wouldn’t take it personally. We are all for the most part gear junkies and like trying new stuff looking for the holy grail. The more reviews the better. I see a lot of value in different perspectives. I can’t speak for everyone else, but I typically like to look at more than one review before buying a product.

Well said. For sure don’t take it personally @PAhunter78 . I for one use this site as entertainment as well as knowledge. It’s not that your review wasn’t “good enough”. Whenever certain people start threads I read them. The first picture I ever saw of that nutterbuster character was of him in his cubicle with a jackalope...That made me laugh, and squirrel hunting competitions? And explaining difficulties of certain tasks on a beer scale instead of easy or hard, awesome! I read it just to see what words he comes up with to describe things. It’s never too serious, all about fun. He also does do a great job breaking down the major talking points between products.

All that said, your review was pretty good. It actually made me consider trying one of these saddles out. I always thought it was crazy that people have more than 1 saddle. But with options like the saddle from John it’s beginning to make sense. So thank you for contributing to the forum. It’s nice to see a mixed bag of opinions and you did a great job. I value everyone’s ideas on here. It’s a great community.

@kyler1945 I thought the JX3 was your saddle of choice. You are using the tactisaddle for sure? How long have you had one? What do they cost?

I did give a detailed review and answered questions...read the post. I didn’t respond to your questions because they seemed irrelevant because the saddle is “custom” made to your body type. This is a total piggy back on a new product review and the race to get some sort of notoriety. Ridiculous!

Where is your review posted?

We appreciate your contribution to the forum. I am sure that someone got something useful from your review.

@Nutterbuster add one more question to the pile. It says they are custom made, but the only two variables are waist size and bridge length. What changes are made when the user selects these options? Does just the waist belt and bridge size change? Do other measurements change? Does the user's height change how the saddle functions? What about folks with really big legs, does it create a pull down on the waist belt because the leg straps are now being extended to their max length, or are they 2 feet too long like the kestrel and need to be trimmed?

The one big issue most people face with saddles is that waist size is a really poor reflection of how saddles will fit the user. Almost no one keeps their saddle belt tight around their waist once at height. Being that this saddle appears to intend to keep the waist strap there, it will be interesting to see how they fit and shape to skinny people with big butts, people with big bellies and no butts, and the in betweens.

Might have me mixed up with the fellow who gave the ORIGINAL review. Please give that gentleman the attention he deserves.

I'm a through and through JX3 guy, except when I want to use my kestrel. Or the anderson...

@PAhunter78 How about this? You have made 19 posts. Over half of them calling us out for our response to a horrible sales pitch and your very own half ass attempt at a review. You should thank @Nutterbuster for taking the time to put out a review from a respected member with several thousand posts.
We get honest open reviews, comments and conversations about saddles, climbing method, ropes, and whatever else we come up with. I think you need to put your feelings on hold and listen.

I’ve been hammered for things I’ve said and hammered guys for what they said. Had very public arguments with guys I now call friends I can tell you that every one of those arguments, conversations had a better outcome than if everyone kept there mouth shut

Thanks for helping to raise awareness of the option. I hadn't heard of it before.

You may as well get accustomed to repeat reviews happening in this topic. We don't have too many commercial options available. To see what I mean, browse through some of the many takes on different climbing products, aiders, SRT, stick shortening demos, rope mods, backpacks, uses for amsteel, etc.

The benefit of multiple reviews is incremental advancements in usage ideas, improvements built on previous improvements, application in different environments (I'll let gulf coast guys worry about snakes and hogs, I'll worry about ice buildup and insulation) etc.

Everyone's early work (posts, reviews, videos) gets feedback or comparison with others that helps them improve in later work. It's painful to see your work appreciated less than someone else's. It's downright insulting to see people who don't create their own slam it. It happens.

Keep on keeping on, develop your craft, get known for contributing valuable discussion. That's all you're seeing anyone else do. That's how G2, Southern Ground, DIY Sportsman, Nutter and others built followings too. It's not a frat. You're just comparing their (n x 10)th work against your early stuff.

You’re right! Thanks Nutterbuster for not responding to a post about this saddle for weeks after it was bashed on here because it didn’t come from a true “Frat boy” Also thank you for now for copying my original thread after you can see that this is not a piece of junk and are trying to gain something from your fellow “Frat Boys”. No wonder why people are leaving here to go to other Saddle Hunter sites. Happens all the time...what a joke.

Wait. There are other saddle hunting sites? Man. I need to get out more.....

When I initially saw it I was skimming and thought the product what was used for something else to be honest. I didn't even read the whole thing. That make me a frat boy I don't think so. But somebody with an opinion that I value has brought it back into the light and is trying to give it a fair shake. That does not mean he's plagiarizing your post. I think you need to get your panties out of a twist their friend.

Calm down guy. Im trying to read about people's questions and comments on this product here and you keep posting all these negative posts. Pm nick if you got beef with him. Rest of us don't need to see your whining.

I would generally advise to lighten up

Your review is helping to bring interest to the Tactisaddle & as a result a more fair look is being given to it

The other you tube video review seemed exaggerated & some more realistic reviews such as yours and eventually nutters will be good for SH community

Most things on here get tried by many people & thru that we get a good variety of input that we all benefit from

Good, bad & indifferent views of the Tactisaddle will help us and also its creator (if he would like to use the constructive criticism to improve his product )

@Nutterbuster another question - does the thong portion of the tactisaddle cause anxiety, stress, and limit your ability to act like an adult?

Stick around long enough and you’ll see lots of similar posts come up over and over again. I think 2 maybe 3 Helium Stick mods got posted on the same day by different people the other day. When something is in the air, many people will take a stab at the topic. Different reviews ate appreciated. Thank you for your contribution.
