Who has snorted the Fairy Dust?

I guess it's crazy hard for some of u peeps to wrap ur head around the fact that heavier arrow shoots flatter than a light arrow but at longer distances....shoot at 150yds, the lighter arrow slows down and looses momentum much faster so ur aim point would be higher up above the target...more mass and more momentum in a heavier projectile so "flatter" flight path...graduate sloping hill vs steep drop off of the lighter projectile.....however...it is kinda mute point at our hunting range...me also thinks if u wanted to shoot heavier arrows at longer distances u just need single pin slider, sharpie, and half a day and that issue goes away also.

150 yards doesn't really mean much in bow hunting!
I'm shooting 635gr arrows this year just to sample the Fairy Dust. I shoot a single pin and HAD TO use a sharpie to make my yardage marks because my new trajectory was waayyy beyond what the factory tapes went to.
With my normal arrows my site tape went out to 100 and I was able to do my own dope out to 120.
With my heavy weights I can only shoot out to 70 yards (unless I aim high) because my arrows won't clear the site housing...

U a sniper....

760gr for me using 200fps insert on the ezv and the bows set 50ish pound draw...the 20 and 30 tick marks are correct but beyond that I would need to sharpie mark also...I try to set up for 15yd and range the area but in the heat of the moment I just look at my point of aim and raise the V till the gap is right...I'm definetly limiting myself but I really don't care....I like getting close

The deer in archery was my longest shot yet...25-28...somewhere in there...it was standing inbetween the 20yd tree and 30yd tree favoring the 30yd tree....I had just missed a buck the previous hunt at 11yds and I was totally second guessing myself as I was drawn on that deer...worked out for me and not so much for the deer

I don't know much about the EZV but if it comes with slower inserts you might need that?

With my 635gr arrows I'm only at 193fps. Thats from 26" draw length @ 55lbs .

They hit good but I CAN NOT forget my range finder! Hahaha

No you can't! Nor can you have one that won't read yds. Several years ago my grandkids got to pushing buttons on my Leica RF before the season. It would read everything but yds. temp, angle, meters. I couldn't figure it out and thought it was broke I so just went hunting. It cost me big time. I was afraid to shoot at big one at 35 yds ish because I wasn't sure. I showed it to my buddy. He had it fixed in 5 minutes.

So I will admit I’m going to eat crow. My son shot his first deer with a bow today. I had him set up heavy for his low poundage. Man did it perform. 40lb draw weight. 444gr total arrows weight. 17.76 grains per pound of draw. Magnus buzzcut with bleeders. It’s got 200gr up front. It blew right her. She didn’t go far. I never even heard the bow go off I just heard the thwack. So I’ll be a hypocrite and say I want to build me some.814482C5-0A50-4306-8CBE-C33A2738F178.jpeg943DC4D7-5247-4BE3-AB96-9057B2850CBE.jpeg

Congratulations to you and your son on his first bow deer! That's awesome. A successful outcome early on will go a long way in his hunting career.

Hey @Lowg08 do you know how fast his arrow is? Just looking to figure out his Ke and momentum. I'm trying to convert two of my buddies

There is no convincing some people. Both of those guys asked about getting better penetration, and neither one will budget! Over the weekend one of them made a great shot on a nice 8pt with a 355 fps crossbow and failed to make two holes...

I think I went too far... do under spined arrows cause accuracy issues?
